I haven’t looked at the views these type of video are getting, but even if they don’t get many views, they are gold dust to someone!
Not many may be able to relate to you in some of this type of video but those that do, I think it will help them massively!
Keep up the good work, love watching your content Billy👍🏼

Agree Bill about straighteners back in the day ,not that long ago.You had a row you went one on one toe to toe hammer and tong and it was all done,Now it's the coward behind the blade with society going backwards in my opinion.

I love hearing your stories Billy. I done a 2 stretch in 1985/6, in risley, strangeways and Walton. I had several fights and partook in the verbals out of the window. But I eventually realised I was my own worst enemy and I changed myself. When I got out I stopped being a criminal and I worked full time for 37 years! It didn’t really get me anywhere but I stayed out of jail. I’ve never amounted to much and it’s down to my violent childhood when I was regularly battered by both parents. I was neglected and never loved. I always felt like nobody and nothing. But I have to laugh at your stories because I’ve been there done that and looking back I find it amusing. It was a crazy time and an astounding experience! And you get it Billy! 💀

I can relate to so much of what you are saying. Even at almost 40, I battle myself to turn a blind eye or switch off those thoughts of revenge. It can be exhausting, but the alternative is much worse. Logic over emotion.

Hi Billy hope you are well mate thanks for your videos must take a lot of courage to share what you've been through.
I've had a similar time as yourself and been straight since 2009.
Been working full time all these years but it's a fight to survive in these places working with people that don't want me.
Is it possible for me to make a good living from making videos from past trauma experiences of drug addiction being stabbed at 15 years old, involved with wrong people then turned my life around.
Is it possible I could also make videos as a full time job?
I helped out voluntary years ago at the drug and alcohol consortium outside Glasgow and would have loved to do something positive full time.
Would appreciate your help and advice?
    Kind regards Derek

First of all, you deserve credit for highlighting the nonsense of people calling someone a grass. I now hear middle-class adults using the term. It's really really damaging. It's one thing listening to a daft 15-year old using the term, but more worrying when adults use it. I must be honest, whenever I hear an adult using the term, I usually think they are not that bright and can't be trusted.
But I do think you've romanticised what happened years ago. In the 70s and 80s there were plenty of Liverpool lads carrying knives. Blues and Reds carried them to the game. Fights in town would see them used. One on one straightners were really rare. Fighting one on one is scary stuff. Despite what many claim, very few want it, but what they do want is a load of their mates to back them up.
You're a nice lad, Billy...but here's a challenge. Lay into the gangsters and wannabe gangsters. Call them out. Not just the teenagers jumping about town on their scooters. Call out the fellas in the 40s and 50s who terrorised their communities in the 70s and 80s. Don't let these fellas who've 'seen the light' get a platform on your show. Choose a different path.
    Good luck.

Your comment makes loads of sense and is very true. I'm not speaking as Billies point of view but personally if I was still in the city or ventured anywhere near the city and even like towns far far away like Bournemouth or Aberdeen, it would not be that safe to start naming people like Darren tries to do. He would have to look over his shoulder 24 hours a day, he put his family at a serious risk and any attacks on him that would be garaunteed to happen could end up hitting an innocent person which is quite common in Liverpool. So nah. Getting Billy to name these heavy kids and their goings on would be extremely dangerous for a lot of people and is quite a daft irresponsible thing to do.

I would say though that Liverpool has a disproportionate amount of drug importers and county lines gangs compared to other cities in England ( we’ll forget Glasgow or Dublin )
The fact is there is now a generation of kids who’s go to is to pull a knife or gun to settle a dispute , and I agree it’s becoming more frequent .
However, I think it is a direct consequence of the generation of drug dealers before them turning Liverpool into a “ source city “ for drugs , meaning there are way more ways of kids getting into drug dealing because the product is much more widely available .
I also think as well that many of the past generation were as violent , sly , willing to screw one another over and prepared to peddle misery as this generation

I grew up in the 80,s an 90,s Speke an we did have loads of weapons Billy and you probably did yourself. I remember we would put nails in bats or sticks and would take the old rubber ariels with a chunk of metal at the bottom off cars an the occasional carving knife out me maas drawer and would be tooled up to death. But do you know what would happen 98% of the time we wouldnt use them. They was used as a threat more than a weapon. Your not much older than me an from the same estate that words could not explain what type of place it was so i imagine you possibly share very similar experiences as i have. The mad thing is billy is that cus i was in so much trouble in speke in robbed cars an just smashing up the estate and burning a lot of it down. My parents decided on an intervention and moved me iut of speke to escape the crime. Mad thing is they moved me to bootle haha but the not funny part is that this immature kid in less than 2 years ended up on the smack and crack in a bad bad way. Sime intervention that bill init haha.

Alright Billy you're right about one thing I'm 52 years of and back in the day before all this mobile phone and computers we're out I miss those days because it meant if a good friend of yours wanted you he had to knock at your door to have a word the kids nowadays talk about anything and everything on them phones jail bait that's all those phones are but I remember about 20-years ago one of the local hardman like this lad was a proper gangster anyway he was arrested with 2 Fire arms he was about 29 years of age but he had two little scallywags with him just to do the running around you know yourself and one morning we were all gathered around the shops wondering what happened and who was arrested the next thing we noticed was this so called Gangster walking up the road from the Old station and he walked across to us we're he started to tell us about the two younger scallywags that was with him the night before and he proceeded to tell us the Story Those two little a-holes couldn't keep their stories straight and ended up signing statements against themselves now the young lads wear only in there early teens 16 or 17 and this so called Gangster was 29 years old and he had a name for robbing shops like doing jump overs with swords and imitation hand guns and everybody around area was afraid of their life that's what it was like back in the 80s, But the two young lads ended up getting 7 years in prison each you see Billy what I'm getting at this So Called Gangster was after grassing On the two younger lads you see when you get arrested and you have no criminal record and somebody opened their Mouths every single person on that believed every word that came out of this so called Gangster and when you have a name like this one had nobody would believe he was the grass but it was him that put these two young lads in to prison for 7 years so what I'm saying when you are at tough man and a gangster everybody will believe what he says because when he told everybody that those two little scallywags couldn't keep their mouth shut and a matter of fact it was himself after cooperating with the old bill nearly Twice Their age, but it just goes to show once you have the name of a hard man or a gangster everybody will believe an eating out of his mouth but a couple of years later the two youngs lads got out of prison and they went little scallywags any more I think the two of them where about 20 to 23 years of age after serving Their sentence and I can remember it like it was yesterday the two young lads got out of prison within a week of each other and the same gangster that grass them up nearly 7 years earlier got his comeuppance because I never seen somebody get as bad as a hiding as he did and of course he deserved it and he had to move out of the area because the kids back in the day we're starting to grow up and the same as you we're saying they were carrying around Glock handguns like it was only a packet of smokes those days are well gone now bill there's no such thing as a good straightener just fisticuffs it's very hard to get that nowadays unless They get into the ring and we all know that isn't going to happen because this younger generation don't know what a straightener is because they all Carrie and it's not knifes if they haven't got a gun on them it won't be far from where they are love your Work Bill keep up the great work you're on the right path I see a little of myself in you Billy and the truth is that we're getting too old for all that garbage it only ends up one way black in an eight by Four Cell just love listening to your stories about the younger days when you think of it some of us are lucky to be here today when we now so many people that haven't made it god rest Their soles as I said Billy keep up the great always keep the mind occupied🍀🍀🍀🍀🇮🇪🇮🇪

Great podcast Billy , it's all about image , but nick wise , if I had a argument with anyone , especially young offenders , I would just go just tell whoever , see you in the morning , stay up all night and go in and cosh them with pp9 Soon as my door was opened , remember 1 time I'm arguing with an Irish boy over religion in the cooks, next thing I no I've woke up and seeing stars , punched me out my shoes on the slippy cooks floor lol, young and daft Billy, thought I was big bollocks and took a second prize 😀, changed days now cannybe arsed with violence , takes me a away from my family , for what

Resentment kills you. Unless it’s totally rationally necessary, it’s best to walk away and think of the consequences Bill. People can project their problems onto you and invade you’re thoughts. I let things go now, In the end, you’ve got to think about yourself and you’re future first. Thanks for the videos

Old school died when the so called gangster’s started targeting innocent people and family’s. If they hurt my family i would call the plod in. Am not getting locked for them.

You've changed Bill. You use your brain now instead of purely just your emotions and that's how life has to be lived this day in age otherwise we'd all be knocking round like they were back in the dark ages.

I have taken your advice from here and put it into action, I used to be firey with bad temper kick offs I was first in que fight anyone who offered me. Now I keep calm think about the situation and walk away , I'm getting older now and mature enough to think first with my brain instead of my fists . Well in bill, love the stories of your life experience and nice 1 for sharing 👍
