I’m loving Mario’s character arc. He is retaining his funny and outlandish personality while gaining something of a conscious and knowing when something is going to far. But even then, he’s constantly being verbally and physically abused by his friends. His insanity is nigh.
I wished SMG4 was consistent with Mario's development. Instead, it feels as if it's two steps forward and a giant step back.

I was expecting a special video for Saiko’s 5 Year Anniversary but this works. Everyone loves fishing but Bob and Mario have to learn about the limitations of how many fish they can catch to avoid overfishing.

Meggy didn't get a 5th anniversary video either and she's a way more important character ("Mario Does It To 'Em" was the episode that dropped on her anniversary… while she still played an important role it didn't scream "special").

I think it's funny how Meggy said that she has a thing for marine life but Inklings and Octolings canonically eat sea creatures that haven't evolved into a humanoid form like them. I mean, look at the snacks that Crusty Sean sells in Splatoon 2 or the snacks that the marigold sells in Splatoon 3. They're all seafood. I don't think it's cannibalism but it's still funny that Meggy said that.
What's even funnier about that is that after she said that, Bob eats an Octoling in Octo form. If you look at the shops during splatfest, they also have some veggie stew. I think inklings having seafood is like humans eating other mammals like cows or pigs.

The fact that Mario has second thought on catching ever fish really said something. The only reason he wanted to catch fish was so he wasn't bored (also 'cuz he's hungry) and him realizing his mistake was interesting.
I also think Meggy and boopkins also pushed Mario by boopkins getting upset on the fact they were going to eat any fish.

Fun fact : the fish Mario and Bob cought was probably dead or had much damaged its breathing system because it was outside so long, so by the time they started throwing them in the water the fish would probably not be able to swim or was even alive, so they were throwing perfectly good food into the water, while some people starve to death.

Note of information: humans typically struggle to breathe or talk while underwater, however Meggy seems to be completely unaffected when submerged.
Worst thing about this is that what if Bob was giving the fish to a place that needed it who know how many people would have died?

I'm still only getting used to Boopkins' new model, but it's pretty cool that he can talk to marine life. Not surprising, given he's a Spike, and somehow Octodad's son.

I dont really get It, so after the rework he is now like a fish? I never even knew a spike was like a Water creature nor the new model.
@@raulstopspam1791 I don't know much about Mario lore, but what I know of spikes is they're fish- creatures that can also survive on land. Boopkins originally used the spike model from Mario Tennis Aces, but after the recent Lawsuit arc, SMG4 gave him a new model that's supposed to be more unique. The in- universe explanation for his new model is Miyamoto got tired of people on the internet calling spikes "Fishy Boopkins", so he transformed Boopkins into his current form. He did the same to Bob, as he got tired of nerds calling Garos from Legend of Zelda "Bob".
