Can you make a video of student transition from school to work (Vocational) and what are community based programs that can employ students with special needs.

Thank you so much for your content. I am new at this and it’s pretty overwhelming specially when you’re dealing with a low quality school district.

Dude, you just got a bunch of it 100% correct.
Under LRE is Civil Rights. It ASTOUNDS me still how few ask this FUNDAMENTAL question, long about 15 years old:
“When (student) grows up with (Qualifying Condition) and is an adult with (Qualifying Condition), what is the Transition Plan towards Independent Living, and LRE as an adult living in a LRE in a community setting?”
    “Just asking”😊😎
Then, watch everyone throw everyone else under the 🚌
Every student who has SPED at time of turning towards 18, is about to be an adult. Take time to train in those behaviors from 15 to 18, so the individual has ILS and increasing capacity for LRE upon adulthood.

Nice video. You should mention the ETR as some of these decisions can be helped by standard scores and other information. Especially if it is an initial evaluation. but again, good video.

What about different types of learning disabilities in Special Education (SPED) as a topic of discussion?

You said that the parents are part of the IEP team. What do you do when your opinions are repeatedly ignored and overruled by the rest of the iep team. There are more of them than us. It seems they will listen as long as you agree with them but if its not what they want to do you are overruled and disregarded and left with no options. Our iep meetings sometimes seem more of a formality and venue for the team to let us know what has already been decided.

LRE is technically where the student can make meaningful gains. As such, there is no real hierarchy based on setting alone and is a false narrative out there.
