For the last time, unless one is in the military, an employer cannot fire an employee for having an affair or not going through with a wedding or getting a divorce, even if it involves a fellow employee or partner. Marital status/family status or lack thereof are a protected class and firing over it is highly illegal, punishment can a fine of $5000, or if egregious enough, imprisonment of a minimum of 18 months to 5 years or both. Gavin could also file bankruptcy stopping Peyton from suing or dismissing a lawsuit via the automatic stay maybe the 341 creditors meeting. The wedding papers aren’t worth anything until a justice of the peace or judge signs the papers. He won’t owe any compensation. Not how it works.
