Anyone else pick up on the train being analogous to a cardiovascular system?
The red passengers, engineers and conductors are red and white blood cells, and the black crab things are viruses. It also explains the strange language used, with "foreign bodies" being "recycled", and the alternate version of the train made of flesh and bone.
It's a really unique inspiration for a story, although I have no idea what's actually going on. It would've been nice if there was even a hint at an explanation to tie everything together.

honestly my first thought when i heard the train was made of flesh and bone was the cat bus from my neighbor totoro. also the two "fleshy masses" are probably lungs, and since the firebox was described as a mouth, i would think the train is supposed to represent an animal's body in general, although there's supposedly no heart described unless im a moron

It's a pretty good idea seeing as plexus means a network of nerves or vessels in the body, the other stop cailler cd though...cailler means clot so it sort of fits but the cd bit not so much. Glad I'm not the only one who thought that though

    • @randomenvelope

And the conductor is like an immune system? asking for tickets identifies you as a virus or a blood cell and the engineers get to work on the crabs.

The beginning of this says he worked there for 2 yrs without seeing a passenger going that route. Its not showing preference to humans, it's just going towards the familiar. Anyone would do it.

    • @yotodine
      @yotodine ปีที่แล้ว +29

@@dog-gone-it5944 He is refering to the fact the the human conductor was considered a conductor on the ghost train. So it was technically his first shift as the conductor for that train. Second, he showed preferential treatment to humans by saving the woman, without asking her for a ticket, as he did later to the red eyed ones, and to any other human. As a conductor on the ghost train, he should have asked them. He also had asked all the shiny things for thier tickets on the other side. SO... preferential treatment for humans over the other two.
I would also like to state, that the marking on the hand was the obvious choice, BUT, removing it over modifying it was not. Nor was asking to buy a ticket afterwords. Nice!

Internet Horror is usually associated with creepypasta, or no sleep, two genres that people associate with pulpy, cliche tropes but are too busy mocking to actually read.
If you look anywhere you’ll find amazing stories that go by the name creepypasta, and the authors would agree to sharing that label…
It’s not the stories fault that people misjudge based on popular campy stories; in fact that was the entire horror genre a few decades back…

At the journeys end i heaved in a great intake of breath, knowing the conductor managed to get back home.
You cant puzzle this story, you can develope theories to what it meant, which i did throughout the story but at the end, it was just as it was.
It just happened, no rhyme or reason, no allegorical statement.
There was no "micky finn" in his soft drink, he didn't bump his head as he fell when the train lurched on a bend in the line,
He wasnt asleep, dreaming, in the guards carriage, nor taken up bodily in the train by a huge mothership, nor had the train shot into a tunnel & through a
    Portal into another dimention.
None of these. It just was.

    My guess so far
The train is some living entity that serves as a form of interdimensional travel for those who know how it works. And it sustains itself on freeriders, foreign bodies and likely on whatever the price of the tickets actually it (likely lifetime)
The engineers, conductors and intercom are likely just an extension of the train itself. Like limbs.
The red passangers are some sort of alien civilisation who have somehow learned exactly how the train functions and use it regularly without any danger.
The shimmering creatures are some sort of parasitic organism that blend in as passangers to ether feed off the train itself or the red passengers (as the train itself seemed agitated by them and some followed the red passangers out at their station) its likely they do both. They are so numerous in the train that they are capable of maintaining a solid population in the train despite members of them getting semi regularly thrown off the train.

Considering "these stories" are usually in the creepypasta genre, it wouldn't really be fair to compare them to published books (where there is typically several people working to make the book enjoyable for readers, compared to the single or maybe two people in regular creepypasta postings).
In addition to that, in general, certain "types" of people come to these channels to listen. It might just not be your thing. I'm sure there's a Creator out there that does stories you would enjoy.
I think patronizing people due to your own personal preference is immature, though. There are many well-read comments here where it's obvious some of the commenters take A LOT of time to enhance their reading and writing skills.

I also wanted to say that I truly appreciate all the hard work and time that you put into these narrations. The love that you have for your craft shines through and brings these stories to life. I have pretty severe anxiety and depression. Reading and writing used to be an escape for me when I needed it, as well as something I really enjoyed. For a while it has been difficult for me to get into those things or other creative outlets. These narrations and some others have allowed me a new escape into the fictional or even nonfictional worlds that I love so much. So I apologize for the bit of a rant.
