I like how much Misha is willing to interact with people online. It really shows how much he cares about the fans.
intro song is "facepalm mute" off of "Periphery II" for all who are wondering
Great interview. What a gracious and honest guy. Big respect Misha.!
Fantastic interview, sat through this whole thing and I was glued to my monitor.
You create a midi track that's synced with your Pod, Axe FX, whatever. You then place appropriate midi numbers in the track which would change the patch on your unit. Pete Graves from Red Seas Fire has a tutorial about it on his channel.
i would love to have misha and nolly help my band produce and album! thatd be the shit
"Ivan, you have good questions. Why can't every interviewer have good questions?"
So true, it's crazy.
This is so nostalgic. This is the video that brought me to Periphery and because of the opening song.
wow man... utmost respect for Periphery for real. they really worked hard as fuck to get to where they are. when i peeped the backseat bunk beds i was like damn. keep it up man, you guys deserve it!
When playing live, all the members have an earpiece in which plays a click that they play to. That click is transmitted from the Mac that is plugged into all the Axe Fx units. The Mac is programmed to switch all the tones at the correct place corresponding to the click that all the members of the band are playing to.
great interviewer! Really knows his stuff and all about the band/equipment etc.
I will have to say that guy is a very good interviewer. I really enjoyed that interview
One of the best interviews ever.
Seriously...
Misha Mansoor yes
This is educational. Thanks Misha!
As Misha said, great questions! Really good interview! I definitely learned from this.
Best interview ever!!
Been waiting for this!
I did the same thing. I preordered the cd but I couldnt wait for the shipping so bought it on itunes.
Will check as soon as I'm back from work :)
Great interview
Only 1:00 in and this already has some amazing video editing!!
This is a great interview.
waited so long to see this
Nice in-depth interview. Very cool
30 mins?oh awesome...gotta come back and finish this later
misha humble
I am so happy Juggernaut will be a concept album. As a person who holds Pink Floyd and Periphery as favourite bands this is the best possible thing i could ask for.
Guitar messenger, you are awesome!
Just before Periphery II came out, I heard him say first week sales were important so I bought it twice within the first 20 minutes it was out.
I bought it a third time when I saw them live (this time it's physical).
Can't wait to do the same with Juggernaut!
Interviewers of the world take notes. This is how you interview someone and make it interesting for the viewers. He knows his shit (maybe even better than Misha himself).
Really good interview.
People are capable of being chill like that /without/ being high. Novel concept, I know, but the truth.
Holy Shit! I didn't realize he was in that band. I have both of their EP's. I love Painted in Exile
damn new bands need people like you!
Ohhh I do love Red Seas Fire :) Thanks buddy!
He has great questions!!
He's also a fantastic guitarist, check him out in his band Painted in Exile.
Those two blinds going the other way driving me nuts
If you would have never have mentioned that, I would have never noticed it. But you did. Congratulations. You have driven me into madness.
Very interesting interview, though i was awaiting a few more band suggestions from Misha. I first heard about the Dear Hunter from him.
and i can't fucking wait for the new album man... for fucks sake.
This dude is a good interviewer.
every video, you're here
he kinda looks like carlos santana from the cleveland indians. love periphery awesome interview.
The van is a dream!
It could honestly be only the drummer that has the click too, the other members could just play along to the drums (my band does this and it works perfectly fine, albeit without an ax-fx lol). It's basically a high-tech back track that changes your settings for you as long as you do it right.
it works with any other DAW! The guitarist from Red Seas Fire PeteyG explains in a youtube video about how to use it with the DAW Logic! Go find their channel and it should be there!
The audio kinda shits out around 26:00 but still great interview with a cool dude
Misha should upload the demo's to his soundclick after the album comes out. Maybe even 6 months after so it wont hurt sales.
That would be awesome.
hell yes
Does anybody know how they do the automatic changes with a laptop? I have a macbook but I can't work it out :s
What camera was used to record this interview? High quality stuff!
Yeah, I saw their bus invaders video. Kinda sad how an amazing band like this has still had conditions like that to live in haha.
dude's chill as fuck
What's Misha's shirt stand for? I've seen that's shirt a couple times
Clearly these people have never heard of Devin Townsend. He's chill as fuck in person, and he's been clean for a while now.
They haven't released anything with him on it yet. 3.14 and Skylines were both recorded before he joined the band :) Great player nonetheless!
Kick ass!!!
Id love to know the tips Petrucci gave him on alt. picking...
Like how he says his alt picking is weak and it's still 200x better than Mine.
Periphery FTW what about a new album?
What is the song at the beggining? sounds good
good interviewer
Those are good questions very good interview. A lot of interviews lack depth.
How the Mac does all the swithcing?
"Like, uh"- Misha Mansoor

Misha's philosophy about the love of his guitars and making music with them was just too much for the sound card to handle :')
the guy on the left is looking into his fucking soul
You know :-)
i did say they were going down hill.
Periphery jumpin on the bandwagon hehe
21:12 he means that they bring the dank :)
"Ugh I need a tapping" -Misha Mansoor
Not a problem friend! By the way, feel free to check out some of my guitar videos with my Axe Fx II! Lots of cools stuff, I think you would dig it! Not trying to shamelessly self promote, but I figured you'd dig some new jams! hahah
I wonder if Periphery would be as big as they are or bigger if Chris was still the lead singer.
szuchmann STIFFLERRR. Honestly I don’t know... the singer is one of those elements that make periphery periphery
Half an hour interview with Misha? What is this, Christmas?
Or Hanukkah. Whatever you're into.
Oh misha, I see you also studied at the University of Astrophysics.
cause we all know misha loves ripping da bong mang. ja
Misha says that he can't really live only off of the money he makes from Periphery...and if you've ever seen the guitars he has you can completely understand why haha.
Matt Guglielmo 😂
Matt Guglielmo true 😂😂
2 secs later gets arrested for trying to hire a hitman to kill ketchup :/ . man all the metal heroes are really going down hill.
Wait, nevermind.
hes probably high ;)
I was actually very disappointed with the second album's production. I vastly preferred the first albums production. To hear that Misha did it all himself is pretty amazing to me. I can pretty easily place why. I listen to music through very very bassy solutions and the "punch" came through amazingly without eating up the guitar tone on the first album (clipping), while on the second album the punch was all but flattened and the highs in the vocal range swallowed the guitar sound. YMMV. my $0.02
