Wow, growing up, I was really into ol' style breakdancing... My favorites were: Windmills, Knee Glydes, Spider, Mega Waves, Robotix, & Body Poppin'... This stuff looks like items the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team would do....
So muscular and short seems to be the perfect body type for these type of power moves. Not saying tall guys can't do it, but you can see a pattern here, it's almost unfair.

I honestly dont know the real answer, but I can take a guess. like just plain old airflares that everyone has already seen before doesn't get that much hype, it is about creativity. The flips bboys do are not usually basic plain old flips, they combine with a lot of other moves(usually).
