    Fantastic breakdown! This has been my favourite piece of game music ever since I first played LR:FFXIII. When you get super famous, please storm Mitsuto Suzuki's office to get all the latin lyrics... I'm the kind of person who memorizes latin lyrics (to sing) and I have been dying to know this for over a decade.

    Ahhhhh, I can't believe someone made this video!! I'd literally been thinking about making this video for years and years, because this is possibly my single favorite piece of music across the entire medium. I just have never met another person who cares about this piece, hahaha, so I never thought it was worth the effort. It incorporates so much from across the whole trilogy; it's simply amazing. Great analysis!
    Maybe I should try not to sleep on my next back-burner idea: "The ridiculous pianistic virtuosity of Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart in Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth" 🤣

    I loved your analysis to Almighty Bhunivelze, and you even catched more themes than I originally did. I think its so haunting how its a "collage" of all past themes, alluding to the "omnipresence" Bhunivelze has as the creator of the universe. Technically, everything thats happened up to this point, has been connected to him, his purpose, and actions.
    Its chaotic nature makes this theme feels like Bhunivelze is losing his control, both over the universe, and himself due to Hope. Have you talked about Divine Love? I feel its so interesting how, when compared to the phase 1-2 themes its still very similar-- but more chaotic.

      Thank you! I don't think I've ever considered the homages => signs of omnipresence angle before, but I like it. It really fits with the whole theme of this being the climax of everything that happened in the previous games.
      When I first got the idea to make this video, I did consider adding Divine Love for more context/contrast. I had to cut it so I could focus on the soundtrack that the video was actually supposed to be about (I mean, just adding The Ark almost caused me to completely derail), but maybe in the future!

    Damn I never guessed the Ark's theme is used as a base for this entire track the whole time. I gotta listen more to the tracks to pick such references.
    Your analysis was pretty nice and I am looking forward for more 13 trilogy track analysis from you.

      Thank you! When I first started working on this, I hadn't even clocked all of the "The Arks"s yet. I went halfway through the whole process thinking "The Catchy Ark" was actually an original "Almighty Bhunivelze" section, but then I heard that damn melody and it couldn't be unheard. Thanks again!

    Hello 'tis me, chronic enjoyer of your musical rants, and THIS is what I call a proper unleashed let's go analysis, I hope you enjoyed yourself this time you had no time restrictions (you probably did). I have no idea about the story or the characters but I feel like I was just musically educated a little bit, which I always enjoy. I also enjoyed the implications of just how much absorbing a human soul will inevitably change a creature, a topic very relevant to another of my fandoms lmao

      Thank you so much! Things did go a little out of hand, but yeah, I definitely enjoyed myself. Might even do it again someday. (Threat or a promise? Who knows.)

    Almighty Bhunivelze has to be one of my most fav songs in the entire franchise. Your analysis on it made me love it even more!

    This is amazing! I analysed this soundtrack as a project at uni, and I'm glad to say we agreed on most of it! I really liked what you said about the track telling a story, it makes a lot of sense! And you got more references than I did, I wish I could add them to my work lol...
    I'd like to add that I think the organ plays some of the Saber's Edge piano in the IDAF interlude, I dont know if you agree... anyway, thank you so much for this, I enjoyed it immensely ❤

    • @musicwithcecilia
      @musicwithcecilia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      An actual uni-project? That so cool! And thank you so much for telling me about Saber's Edge! I hear traces of it, now that you've pointed it out. It makes sense too, because even though that interlude is "free time" and switches between time signatures (seriously not sure about that one, brass is my weak spot), there are several parts that land pretty firmly in 5/4. You could almost say that the interlude is prepping you for the more obvious homage.
      I'd say that the cameo falls into the "it's a stretch but it's there" list, which are things that never made it into the video (I had to stop at some point, lol). The organ in the Dancing Mad Homage plays a really, really fast "The Ark" at one point, for example. This soundtrack is absolutely crazy.

    I loved this, I was only surprised to not hear you mention the final ark motif in the organ solo at the end. It's playing an arpeggiated version of the ark (albeit somewhat 'jazzy'). Perhaps "The Arp Ark" for the nick name haha Love this content.💜

      @musicwithcecilia  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! I knew I'd be called out on that one some day, because absolutely right. I chose to let that one go because I'd have to pause, repeat, probably slow it all down, and then replay to really make the motif audible. It's so close to the end, so I didn't want to ruin the momentum. Still, you're absolutely right. (Mentally, it's the Baroque Ark for me, lol.)

      @KHRules 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@musicwithcecilia well yours is definitely the most accurate name for that motif usage! Excellent video though, not intended in any way as a call-out just was surprised because every other detail you mentioned haha. I really would love more of these, I wanted to start doing videos like these (especially with the KH franchise and yoko ) a while ago, but you did it perfectly!

    Yes yes yes! A tremendous YES to everything you said! This track is all about the conflict between Bhunivelze and Hope. You can hear their struggle back and forth. Just the fact that there’s so much chaos within the theme is proof of the war with the human heart within Bhunivelze, since chaos is unique to humans, given to them by Etro behind Bhunivelze’s back. Bhunivelze hates chaos but his theme is rife with it. Hope is FIGHTING and crying out to Lightning. God, this track goes SO HARD. Thank you for breaking it down. Bless you!

    • @musicwithcecilia
      @musicwithcecilia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thank you so much! I did consider adding a section of "chaos as a concept" since the chaotic interludes do represent that war and how Bhunivelze unintentionally merged with a human, but it got a bit too plot heavy. I totally agree with your observation though. Thank you for commenting!

    Wow I never realized there were so many recurring themes in this song🤯. It's great to see someone take the time to explain all the details so in dept, and that for a niche game that is more than a decade old (time flies lol). Keep up the great work!

    • @musicwithcecilia
      @musicwithcecilia  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, it's basically just one chaotic medley glued together by "The Ark". I love it. I think. It's an experience.
      Time really does fly, but it's wonderful to see that there are still people out there who care about this trilogy. Thank you for watching!

    Cec, the video came out great! The call backs and themes are very clearly laid out and it's easy to follow. I'm genuinely surprised at how little the Ark get's credited, normally, in the piece when it's easily the most prominant part of the track. Which, yeah, makes sense in the context of the story. Also, never going to stop self inserting 'mother fu****' after you say 'dea mortis'!

    • @musicwithcecilia
      @musicwithcecilia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Yeah, it baffles me when people say things like "the 'The Ark' cameo is here" and just point out one specific place. I think there's more "The Ark" than original "Almighty Bhunivelze" material in there.
      Edit: I checked. 4.8 minutes of "The Ark", 4.1 minutes of original "Almighty Bhunivelze" material. Hope wins this round.

    It's sad that we can't hear the entire loop before we either die or kill Bhunivelze. The fight is too short for this amazing theme :/
