Great to see you back, mate. I'm really pleased your Boelen's is now doing well. I was thinking of using those RS gold bars for my aussie skinks but on your advice i certainly won't be using them for my snakes. I'm waiting on a quote from Viperia and i can confirm that after seeing them in the flesh at the last IHS exhibition they do look really impressive. Take care.

@@paulrichardson6701 Paul if you want to try the gold bars first you can have mine at half price once I take it out if you decide to use them. Would be good for a lizard I think.

Awesome to see boelen's in the uk, one thing that never gets mentioned in them, is how they feel! Why are they so soft!

Good to see another video from you. Funnily enough, I saw your comment, at least I think it was you, asking re the gold bar under a reptiles and research video. I remember thinking my snakes will climb on that thing and also I think some of mine are still small enough they could potentially get their head between the bars of the guard. I had no idea how hot it got on the outside so it's useful you confirming they get very hot. You've saved me taking a hit because they're not cheap so thanks for that.

@@justarthur1788 one of my Boelens was really attracted to the bar. I put wood on top to stop them climbing on top. Changed that to a Reptirad.

I stumbled on your channel today while doing a bit of research, like you do 😂. Just wondered if you were still using the Heka heat panels and if you were, how they were holding up. Loving the snake room, its looking fantastic.

@@_mdb_ thanks for watching, I am and they are brilliant I have used the same ones (8 currently) for at least four years without issue or needing to change them. I think they are really good value as well. You can get them direct but IMCages in Poland will post them to the UK. Lots of sizes, I use three different sizes.

@@BGPythons thanks for the reply, I might give one a try then. Straight from Heka with shipping they work out £20 cheaper than a reptirad which seems crazy. Soon adds up after a few.

Vipervivs! So the doors might be warping if you are load bearing them (stacking etc)?
I have a couple, and have noticed the acrylic bending out of shape. This improved after I put a sheet of OSB above to spread the eight of the viv placed on top.
Polypropylene does bend more than PVC could, but is a superior material in many ways.

@@af7409 no they are just not aligned where the holes were put in. I have used Vipervivs for around 7 years. It is just on the right hand side doors the weight is light on them, especially the top one. When I take them off they would be fine if the holes were in the correct position. Will speak to them as it is all done on CAD and get some replacements as it is just the acrylic I need.

@@BGPythons I've tried a few, from non-stop reptiles (which are very similar to viper vivs, not sure if they were the same designs after non-stop disappeared) to ridgeways herpxotics. Viperia will build and seal them for you too if you don't mind collection / extra price for courier.
