Ok, I’m back! =) This took a bit of thinking and it was harder than I thought it would be to pick 10, haha. I assume we aren’t considering Keepsake Collection sets as “modern” sets. If we were, Mermaid Dreams would definitely be number one for me! But if we are only counting the new design as modern, this is probably how my list would go. Again, in no particular order, and there are a couple on the list that are from 2019, so technically 3 years ago. AND I included multiple sets as one a couple times, because they’re all the same type of compact. Hopefully that’s not cheating. 😂 1. Jungle Safari/Juice Box - this one is from 2019 and I don’t care for rubber leg Polly, but I love the design of the compact and I think the inside is really fun and cute. 2. Watermelon Pool Party 3. Tiny Polly Pocket sets with picture frames/ Beekeeper and Pet Center. I just think those sets are so simple and cute. 4. Cuddly Cat Purse 5. Art Studio 6. Saturn Space Explorer - another from 2019 and rubber Polly, but I LOVE the tiny space ship inside for the alien and I just think it’s a really fun theme. 7. Zen Cat Restaurant 8. Race & Rock Arcade - even though it is the absolute worst for storing the pieces inside, I love the theme and colors. 9. Flip & Find sets - I don’t have all of them and I guess if I really had to choose my favorite of them, I’d pick the cat. If I had the arctic fox one, it would probably be my favorite. =) 10. Otter Aquarium Hopefully this wasn’t too long and bored you, haha. =) Thanks for your question! It definitely got me thinking! 💕💗💕
Awesome! I just "discovered" Polly Pocket and wanted to get a few sets for my 7 year old for Christmas (who am I kidding, they're really for me but her name will be on the gift tags 😉). I'm overwhelmed by the choices but this helps narrow things down to some that are on sale or that I already liked myself. Thanks!
I’m sure she would love just about any of them! 💕 My daughters (10 and 7) helped me compile the list of favorites, so many of them on there are kid-approved. =) If you’re just starting out building your…I mean, your daughter’s 😉…collection, then I’d say definitely go for the least expensive sets first! Unless there are sets you know you and your daughter would love, then obviously get those as well. Older modern sets will have fewer pieces and not as much detail. It’s kind of a trade off, as I prefer fewer pieces, since all the pieces that come with sets now are honestly a bit overwhelming and a headache to keep track of. Sets like Cuddly Corgi, Hedgehog Cafe, On The Farm Piggy, and Jumpin’ Style Pony are nice because they come with minimal pieces and have Polly dolls with fully plastic bodies, but there is no way for the dolls to stand in the sets. These sets came out kind of in the middle of the transition between rubber leg Polly that stood by sticking to stickers and the plastic Polly we have now that stand on pegs. For some reason, they didn’t put any pegs in these sets, so you just have to balance Polly and hope she doesn’t fall over haha. And lots of the animal figures in these sets are stuck in place and you can’t play with them, so that can be frustrating. What fun you both will have, discovering all of these sets and building a collection together! 💕💕💕
Thanks for the suggestions! Do the newer jointed characters fit into the various "seats" of the older modern sets that were meant for the rubbery dolls?

But I was embarrassed to ask about it just in case I'd seen them both and am just too forgetful to know.:) But since I haven't seen the dog one, maybe I'm safe in saying I don't remember the unicorn one. I do have a faint memory of seeing a picture of the unicorn one, but I'm not sure it's a true memory. Unicorns are everywhere.:)
Hahaha and there are a lot of unicorn Polly Pocket sets, so I’m sure you’ve seen some of them, just not necessarily the most recent. I haven’t shown you any of the newest sets yet, I don’t think.
Honestly speaking, I really don't like the idea of that Flip down thing. It doesn't make sense to me personally. I'd rather make it like the old Polly Pocket theme, like a normal 2nd and 3rd floor, that you can use as a living room, kitchen, bedr2, etc. But I do get that for this set, it was supposed to be an outdoor theme. But with the other 3 sets of lineup, most of them doesn't make sense. But for the record, the cupcake one really stand out to me. The fact that they have a male character was kinda fresh to me. Since Nicolas rarely shows up on Modern Polly pocket playset.
I totally agree! The flip down doors really bother me. When they’re down, they get in the way of the bottom part. I like them for storage of the millions of pieces they give you 😩 but otherwise, I wish they’d stop doing it. And if they’d bring the accessories back down to two or three, we wouldn’t need a special storage place for them! 😄 I’m definitely with you on wishing it would go back to the old style. I’d be more than happy with just a “generic” house design and not have sets based around themes. 💕 And I was very happy to see a male character as well! They don’t include him nearly enough. 💗

I'm specifically talking about the one you posted on your channel, I watch that more often while I'm cooking for Dinner. That one that Polly got 3 dogs, and 3 penguins. That is the most amazing Polly Pocket I wish I could have. But at the moment, I'm really into Hello Kitty Playsets. I only have Taco one missing, it's not available here in the Philippines.

That’s what I grew up with, so it’s of course very special to me. But I love all the different generations of Polly! And that igloo set (at least that’s the one I think you’re talking about) is just so pretty! 😍😍 Those 2000s sets are of course quite different from the earlier Polly, but that’s what makes them so special.. they’re unique! I wish you could find it since you love it so much too! 💗 And nooo, you can’t get the Hello Kitty Taco?? I’m sorry. =( I know how frustrating it is to want certain sets but them not be available to you. And you watch my videos while cooking dinner? That is so sweet! 💕💕 Most of the time when I’m watching videos, I’m cooking or cleaning or painting my nails or something. Well, I have now looked through every set I could possibly imagine the blue balloon dog being in, and I can’t find it anywhere. But I still have a very vivid memory of it, sooo…safe to say I’m now a bit concerned about my mental wellbeing, haha. 😭
