Tyler is okay but he's no angel. When he dissed Luke P for being 5'8, that was a really low blow and not at all respectful. Making a nasty comment about something a person can't control about himself (height) is just plain mean and I lost a lot of respect for Tyler when he said that.

Am I the only one who's genuinely terrified by his using the phrase "she is sadly mistaken?" How unnerving is that?! That to me sounds like he's made up his mind and will not take any no's from her as an answer, which he pretty much tried to do. UGH, he's just at least 80 red flags somehow stuffed into a skin suit masquerading as a human man.

Two best moments were Tyler saying "or what?" causing the look of actual terror in Luke's eyes and Hannah moving the rose stand. I will give Luke props for just saying nothing when people were attacking him. For most of the jabs, he just sat there and didn't respond, which was the only wise thing he's done. This wasn't my fav season by far. I'm disappointed she didn't get the best experience because of Luke drama and likely won't be happy in the end. They just need to cast the contestants much better. Don't cast for drama, cast for compatibility. Step it up!

Cool! I'd be very interested in what you think of Luke. Do you think people are misapplying the term when they call him a narcissist? I have a really hard time figuring out if his lying comes from a place of arrogance or from a place of just not caring about the words that come out of his mouth.

@@glassbird Oh this could be long and I'm sorry 😅 you know, I'd be so interested to see how Luke was raised. I would be willing to bet he skated by on good looks and an otherwise vanilla personality, rarely hearing no or any real criticism. While he does seem like a narcissist, I think more importantly he has issues processing the world around him. I think Luke thrives in situations that are highly organized and calculated. Obviously Christianity is regimented, but so is football, so is partying (surface level convos then get drunk, have sex, repeat), and even his version of love seemed regimented. His lack of interest in taking it slow, getting to know her, etc., showed that he really only knows how to be all in. He repeated cheesy lines like they were scripted because that's all he knows. Once wrenches were thrown and the script wasnt applicable, he fumbled over his words and caused chaos. When he didn't get his way with Hannah, his narcissistic tendencies were itching in the back of his mind, making him blind to all criticism. His long pauses showed his inability to process properly.
The short of it is, I think he has narcissistic tendencies, yes, but I also think he's a product of a very vapid and superficial environment.

@@devin3073 thank you so much for putting this into words! I agree, he seems to exhibit some very self-centered qualities but I'm not sure that I would label him a narcissist, just narcissistic. And he displays zero adaptability skills. At times he almost seems like a robot that is trying to learn how to be like people, but just isn't quite getting it. I noticed that a lot of what he says seems to be either a repeat of past things he has said (like he rehearsed a couple of things to say that sounded good) or a parrot of what others have said. When Chris asked him questions he wasn't expecting he took some very lengthy pauses as if he were trying to compute a new sentence but it wasn't working. It's as if he has been so used to people buying whatever BS that comes out of his mouth and never having to think about what his words might mean that when confronted with people that will call him on it, he just can't deal. So then he either backtracks completely (which then makes him sound like a complete liar) or he just doubles down and says that he was "misunderstood". But if EVERYONE is misunderstanding you, maybe you're not communicating well, Luke. Lol.
In conclusion, I spend way too much time thinking about this show.
I’m done with this season. Bring on paradise!! It’s time to get coco NUTS!

No I would not say that he redeemed himself but I do agree that it must have been hard to take all of that. We shouldn’t bully someone. He needs a lot of growth that is crystal clear but we maybe should come at people with more love and teachability like Chris Harrison did perfectly, in my opinion. I agree that he may not fully understand what is being said to him, but the importance in the conversation is so that all the young women and men watching might hear the message that women have their own voices and shouldn’t be treated as if they don’t. There are far too many young women that fall for controlling guys and it’s just not ok to be controlling or controlled on the level that Luke has demonstrated.

I think the independent woman attack is missing the mark, from my perspective it looks like Luke wants a woman who believes exactly what he believes and wont challenge him to engage in a world outside of his own bubble, and those woman exist and I'm sure one day he will find one and they will have a very happy, old school life together, and there is nothing wrong with that so long as both parties choose it openly and freely, that woman was just never going to be Hannah and he was trying to turn her into that.

I think he was very eloquent and gave some good apologies that seemed genuine. I think he was pausing because he knows that everything he says is going to be picked apart and wanted to make sure he explained things well. Which I think he did.

Luke talks about loving Hannah, but his feelings for her weren't love. If you truly love someone, you always want what's best for them. You hope that''ll be you, but can accept if it isn't. Luke continually ignored her wishes, and bulldozed her feelings to prioritize HIS OWN wants. When she broke up with him, he didn't accept it because he wanted her more than he wanted her to be happy. He never loved her. He wanted to possess her.
I think he realized this. He can have a conversation like an adult. Hannah cannot. She wasn't clear on her intentions with him in the first place. That dress !! Yikes

Amy Elder men tell all usually they talked about all the problems and reactions etc etc then in the end those apologies etc etc. I can understand men like Luke s, even Kevin for that matter, Garret as such because they stick to whatever happened in the things and their perceptions but Mike the black guy and Connor that talked like he always has colds were very terrible attitude. Can’t stand those kind of guys! And I’m so impressed how Luke handled the situations like this. He kept pausing as he was trying to burst emotions also as for other men that you will put in that hot seat I bet can really do such bad things etc etc but he’s an educated guy and value his religion.

I gave up on the season 4-5 weeks ago mostly because of Luke so I really appreciate Hannah's apology to 'Bachelor Nation' even though she didn't have to say anything at all.
As for Luke, the guy needs serious help. I see people saying he has a lot of growing up to do but I disagree. I truly think he needs some type of therapy. His behavior throughout the season was bordering on being psychotic; the long pauses, the twitch in his eyes when he was being confronted, backtracking on things he said literally within seconds, etc. All of it genuinely made me feel uneasy.
At first I thought, she doesn’t owe us that. But then I remembered how awful and boring this season has been and I thought, eh, we do deserve it a little.

The main reason I can't accept what Luke says is because Luke contradicts himself constantly. He never takes accountability for his actions. He claims he wasn't judging Hannah but that's what he did. He said if she slept with any of the guys he would go home. When Hannah said she did, then Luke turned around and said, well, we can make things work. He was also quite disrespectful and condescending to Chris when Chris was talking to him. He was talking down to him multiple times, as if Chris wouldn't understand what Luke was saying otherwise. When Chris asked him if he would change anything, he said he wouldn't change a thing about his behavior. I appreciate Mike calling him out on his ridiculousness, because until Luke's actions match his words, it's hard to believe him. It was great to see Mike again and see John Paul Jones again! Can't believe JPJ threw chicken nuggets! I would've eaten all of them. Also, I love how Chris was throwing all those comments at Mike! I love their new friendship! It's so great! I really did love Mike's suit though, it was great. I also really enjoyed your podcast interview on Bachelor Party with Chris this week! It was super hilarious and it was great to hear his insight on Men Tell All. I can't wait for the finale. It's definitely going to be crazy! Wonderful recap as usual, Lauren! So, so, so excited for Bachelor in Paradise!!! It's so close, but so far away!
