Ok Del it took me a long time to grow my hair longer and you cut yours off. My Daughter in law is gonna say you still look good and me…. Like a hippy. Great build and sound. ❤
Terrific step by step process vid. What a transformation and amazing result- looks incredible and sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing, as always. Great to see the progress on your place too. 👍😄
Atounage is one of the best lessons you taught. And the 24" scale breakdown makes setting frets less intimidating. Thanks, bro! Btw, I plan on using stainless steel nails for the frets. I've got to file off the ringshanks.
What an awesome result! I think im going to try to copy this since i have a lot of pallets. It is kinda hard to get cigar boxes here in 🇱🇻 I was always thinking of how it would sound if it was made of thicker material. Thanks!! 🤘🏽
Try magnesium sulphate paste for infected finger, I was a butcher for 50 years and works well, get it from the pharmacy. Great guitar mate , I’m going to give it a go 👍
Dude you moved from New Mexico to Oregon s**t man I know that you did it because of your job but dang what a change, I live in Texas visited Phily, to far north for me don't like the quality of the sunlight up north it's very diminished .
Twisty nails = spiral nails. 😉 I enjoyed the video a lot. Am I right in assuming that there is no need for string slots in the 0 fret and bridge fret because of the straight pull at the headstock and the close proximity of the hinge to the bridge?
Del, how did it sound unplugged? I've got an endless supply of pallets & some have some pretty thin boards. I guess I'll have to try it and see what I get.
You got me into building CBGs several years ago! I have enjoyed all of your videos. Thought I might get you hooked on another homemade instrument, the strumstick. I have made several of these for the neighborhood kids (and myself). I use stripped and sanded cigar box lids for the top and bottom. The neck/ body comes out of basically the same lumber as a CBG neck. They are really fun to make and sound great. You can also add all sorts of pickups. Here is a series of videos with instructions and measurements... th-cam.com/play/PLzivS-D7JxlMAGzz6U6ILbRM2eTtu5eYc.html
Premier ended before I could respond to Steve Vaughn 's comment in the live chat about the "hurdy gurdy" house in Dayton NV when I remembered that was a term used as a euphemism for a brothel 🤣 a number of "establishments" had what they called hurdy gurdy girls, I doubt if any of them actually played the instrument.. there is a lot of ebb and flow and mix ups in history 😉
Thanks man your videos are so inspiring. Remember about safety at work. Your fingers and eyes are priceless. May the Lord grant you eternal life.
I have a electric guitar pickup that I am going to use and found your video helpful thanks!
I have thoroughly entertained by this start to finish build including the mini concert at the end!
