The fact that he finished VCE in 2023 and played this year as a virtual professional gave him the added advantage to concentrate on his football. The only possible downside is that I hope he hasn't peaked too early as I'm sure most of the other draftees were concentrating on their VCE as well as their football.
Getting Jagga turning pick three into pick one, considering we are still looked as a finals contender getting hands on a talent like him, amazing. For Austen that leadership quality was one of the things attraching them. Jagga will quickly come to be what we need in the now but more importantly for us I think a 200 plus player we'll need in the future. Really excited, agree with all you said mate, Go Blues
Got yourself an absolute gem! I was hoping we'd (tigers) would trade north for pick 2 to be able to grab him and Lalor at once but very very happy with the how things panned out. Jagga might make me enjoy watching the blues now 😅
I’m beyond excited. He’s quick, evasive, is great by hand and more than decent by foot. He’s a creator. Not sure about his defensive game yet, but that can be developed.
Was team Sid and very disappointed at first. But then, I thought this bloke might be the most talented (midfield) player in this draft. There are reasons he was in the contention for pick 1 for so long. Already proved himself at VFL level as well despite being of such tiny stature.
Those injuries draper has had especially the stress fracture in shin are bad news, plus he wanted to stay at home. Jagga is a gun and has future skipper potential
@@kamadowoah4584 a fracture in his chin isn’t that bad news. He did have some soft tissue issues though, they are bad news. He said he had no problem with moving interstate. It is also about type of player. I absolutely love the type of players Sid is and think he could have been the missing link as well as a potential 200-300 gamer for Carlton. A fast/explosive player out of the midfield is something most top teams have.
For sure. I have no doubt, in the long run, Jagga will be, or at least can be, an absolute class player and one of the best in the league. I am just questioning whether he was the right choice at this moment and overall. Draper might have added more of what we are lacking now than Jagga. A player who combines footy IQ and terrific ball use skills with enormous explosiveness, speed and agility is very hard to get.
Like i said in your last video, I preferred, Draper! But this kid has enormous illusive skills and disposal, Hopefully he play a couple of games next year and hit the gym!
What a rap up bagger. I'm a Richmond supporter, and I'll give my take of Jagga. I was at 2 of his VFL games that he played for us, and he will be a good long-term player with a high floor. The reason that Richmond didn't pick him is that he's an accumulator, not a high meters gained player, as was evident when I saw him live. He will suit Carlton as you have an established midfield and in the window. Richmond made the correct decision in Lalor as he has a much higher ceiling, and his possessions really hurt the opposition. Bear in mind that Jagga took the year off school just to prepare himself for this year, so he is close to the finished product. Lalor, on the other hand, has never done a footy pre-season as he played cricket in the off-season and was hampered by a few injuries. It's hard to make comparisons, but Lalor has Dusty traits but is also better in the air and has a real appetite for tackling, which wasn't Dustys go. Time will tell, but as a Richmond supporter, I'm very comfortable with our choice.
You'd be wrapped as a tiger geez they drafted well.. I'm actually looking forward to watching the clubs development.. two top 10 picks next year most likely a bright future in the years to come
@davemclean3899 Yep, I'm excited about our next chapter, but nothing is guaranteed. Hopefully, we can have a good run with injuries and get game time into these cubs.
Don’t want to see Jagga down back, for me half-forward to start with, run with your man and defend when defensive running on return use your speed Jagga and rover the key forwards and snag a couple each game - from half forward have him having a run on the ball every quarter just to get the speed of the game, hoping the coaches tell him to play his natural game around the contest.
Likely he ends up 184-185cm and 79-80kg Butters 180-181cm and now 80kg Both 70kg draft year Very excited to have this kid at the club. Rising star winner Jagga and premiership winner 2025 🎉
Well , here is the go CARLTON have already taken the worst 3rd of all time , already, so , Satisfaction, emotional rescue for opponents , Smash em like a Rolling Stone , Pleased to meet yah Jagga is my name ! GO BLUES RARARA
He's nothing like Daicos, doesn't have that same burst or ability via foot in my opinion, he won't get that time in AFL level, don't expect him to dominate early when he gets eaten up at the top level.
The top end of this draft doesn't have that point of difference it was praised for having a much deeper draft which is true but the top end is also nowhere near the year earlier with a Reid, Watson, Mckercher, duursma etc.
and hopefully soon enough he'll be a Jagga Bagger Flagger. Should be a Camporeality.
We’re gonna O’Farellentlessly teach everyone a Charlesson!

Wait and see when he mature,,he will turn out a running, ball winning machine like his old man was. Exciting future! Good luck Jagger.
Super excited to watch him grow at our club. He seems mature and ready to go - just what we need! 💙💪

I was very impressed by how well spoken he is. Seems a potential future skipper

I’m very excited champ he c will be a great addition to our midfield mix
Can't believe we snagged Jagga, outrageous.

Just gotta hope this was the right call. Jagga has been incredibly consistent and leadership intangibles make him worth the pick.

The first time i saw him I thought he was like a Daicos who wins the ball...so better. He is an onballer. Let's play him on ball.
What a lot of dribble. Jagga is an accumulator who will be a good player but isn't a meter's gained player and doesn't break the lines like Daicos.
Let's go!!
Mick!
Can't believe we got Jagga.. he and Ashcroft are clearly best two.

You overpaid for him. Watch Draper in the future
Sadly I agree.

Sid Draper is much much more athletic and built than Jagga, he looks like a kid physically compared to Draper.
