Tetris Forever - Time Warp Gameplay

is it possible to deactivate these white glow effects when planting a tetramino? and is it possible to play regular marathon with this new tetris style without the time warp feature in multiplayer?

Yea time warp can be disabled. There's a separate no time warp mode for singleplayer and I believe it can be disabled for vs. Play. There's also a 1989 marathon mode without time warp that's basically just Game Boy Tetris
