    For those that don't watch Muaythai, leave and watch this now. For those that do, what are your thoughts on this fight?

      Man Muay Thai is the truth. Incredible fight, these guys always put on fights that remind you of dragon ball of some shit lol.

      @lancestabler7650 that's exactly what I was thinking when they were going back forth in the second round. It's even more like dragon ball considering they are friends.

      Muay Thai is a beautiful sport. They have the energy of old, old school boxing. Hundreds of fights, fights all the time, never duck and fight to win. Beautiful techniques too.

    Fought in Muay Thai and trained in it for 20yrs. This was a great fight to watch. Both guys displayed high levels of Muay Thai.
    In Muay Thai, clean knees and kicks to the body are very high scoring. Punches although very effective are not scored that high. Defense and form is also important to the judges.
    If you get Knockdown or standing 8count, everything you did leading up to that just went out the window in the eyes of the judges. To even the playing field you must score a knockdown of your own or to win you must score multiple knockdowns, TKO or KO. So after Superlek scored the controversial knockdown he went into a more defensive style to try and control distance and nulify Rodtang hands because Rodtangs next move is to be more aggressive with punches and elbows to score a KD or KO.
    At the end of it all, it was very easy to score and I agree 100% on the decision even though I was cheering for Rodtang but objectively picked Superlek to win because usually when 2 Thais at the highest level clash and with these two fighting styles Muay Femur/Technical fighter(Superlek) and Muay Mat/Puncher Brawler(Rod) the Technical fighter usually wins, just like in Boxing. Thanks for the awesome breakdowm.

      Hell, thank you for the awesome breakdown I cut out a part where I mentioned, I think it's called Muay Khao, the style that uses knees to intercept punches. I forgot the name during the video and maybe this is still wrong. But superlek neutralized a lot of Rodtang's offense, definitely thought he won. May have been different five rounds though.

      @@immortalityserum Yeah, you're right. Superlek neutralized and smothered Rodtang's punches and elbows by clinching and landed a lot of knees in the clinch. Rodtang did get a few elbows in while clinching.
      I think if it were 5rds the pace wouldn't look like that all 5rds. I think it would look more like a traditional 5rd Muay Thai, slow the first two rounds then gradually ramp up.

      @immortalityserum  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @machkick2 I agree The fight would have started slower, but Rodtang's pressure was getting to superlek. But what people also don't mention is that superlek had Rodtang breathing heavy in the 3rd. I would say it was from the knees to the body.

    good video. im a muay thai fan and i thought Superlek edged it when i watched it live. but it was apparently scored under 10 point must system like in boxing so im not sure the exact scoring criteria for this fight (in muay thai usually the fight is scored as a whole not in individual rounds)

    • @immortalityserum
      @immortalityserum  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the fact that this was under the 10 point must system was a big factor in why superlek deserves the win. So we agree.

    For me this fight had been won by Rodtang - 1st round Rodtang, 2nd round SL, 3rd round Rodtang, - he landed a lot of these elbows and hooks, - at the 3rd round Superlek hold on for survival - always clinched but not in an agressive clinching and fighting, no he hold up close to win time again and again (totaly pumped out).
    Yes Superlek had a few good knees, elbows too but most of the leg kicks got blocked or on the shoulder and the leg kicks do not count as high as an elbow. It went down to the given knockdown, but there had been a interview after the fight and Rodtang said the elbow did not knock him out - he misstepped over and fell sidewards in ropes (look at Rodtangs eyes as he stood up there had been no sign of glasy eyes or any effect, like wappling, weak legs nothing) - if Rodtand say so then I believe him as he is a honest guy, alwas had been.
    Soon there will be a title fight between both of them over 5 rounds, I eager looking forward to this fight.
    Anyway this fight is done - if some see these 2 masters in slow motion some really can see the insane technique these fighters have - this are fighting-machines.
    Thank you - nice video.

      I respect a lot of the arguments you've given, thank you for your input. Luckily for us fans we don't have to debate much because in Muay Thai they fight. There's no weird contracts or controversies just fights and that's one of the many reasons I love the sport

    Per muay thai scoring if Rodtang indeed got knocked down then Superlek 100% wins. Knock down counts way more than a cut on the face.

    • @immortalityserum
      @immortalityserum  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Plus I learned this after, I've heard this before but now I know. Kicks and knees count more than punches. Superlek dominated the kicks and knees so he definitely won.

    I thought it was a draw rodtang 1 and 3 and superlek got that knockdown in 2

    • @immortalityserum
      @immortalityserum  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I could see why people were giving rodtang rounds especially from a boxing perspective. But Superlek's knees and kicks were not only effective but are scored higher in Muay Thai. So him winning makes sense, at least from my limited muay thai understanding
