    Jamaicans are fast because their food is cleaner as apposed to American poison food.. Their diet is vegetable and fruit heavy as apposed to the
    American meat heavy diet. Their muscles are carrying a lighter body mass than an over meat eaten body mass American. They don't have worry about
    digging through poison food trying to figure our if the labels are lieing to them or not while shopping either. Their home grown gardens
    are not being sprayed by chem trail vegetation contaminants either.

      Americans are fast too tho…🤣
      You acting like they’re slow🤣
      I will say this, American athletes are all technique & Ultra hard work.
      Whereas with Jamaicans it seems more like natural ability.

    Are you stating that there are 'black' and 'white' people? Black is the color of this text, white the background. Have you ever seen a human that fits these extremes of the color spectrum? Is it kosher to say that there are yellow, red, and purple people?
    Is not race a social construct? Is it not correctly termed the human race?
    Would it not be more plausible that people living in different areas, abiding by different cultures, priorities, diets, and concepts, have developed certain strengths?

    In terms of the enthnicity argument, and it not playing some aspect in performance, why then is it than over 60% of the medalists in sprinting were black, regardless of nationality? There's also something to be said about the typical Jamaican diet. I'm a bit surprised that Dr. Graham didn't acknowledge that most Jamaican's have a predominantly vegetarian/pescatarian diet including an abundance of local fruit. Btw I happen to be Jamaican.

    Just like in the popularity of sprinting in Jamaica, the raw food movement is being helped along by people like you. My sibling told me I should be a nutritionist because I was talking about my interest in this, but if its so simple what use are nutritionists going to be anyhow ;)

    Actually it is about ethnicity sorry to break it to you but the environment in western africa meant that these people where bound tto be fast its npt a black people thing its a western African thing. plus jamaicans are children of slaves who mostly worked on farms and sugar plants so the strongest of them would survive so it is an ethnicity thing.

      How can you say its ethnic based, when far more Black/African people in places like Brazil, Ciolombia, Cuba and the USA, who suffered in the same way as the Jamaicans, mostly for centuries longer, but yet Jamaicans, both men and women dominate the sprints? At one point, I think in 2012, every major championship from under 16s to world and olympic level had a Jamaican as the reigning champion, both male and female. There is alot more to it. I think its something to do with the culture and the food they eat.

    • @mtlblues4710
      @mtlblues4710 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Haat Praat Exactly, there were millions of slaves across latin america that also cultivated sugar and worked as farmers. It's like the man said, once Jamaicans got the reputation of being the best sprinters, everyone wanted to uphold that reputation and it became part of their culture.

      Lies I grew up in Jamaica, Jamaicans take track and field serious, every kid takes part in track and field in school, Jamaicans love running. I use to run for fun as a kid I ran everywhere, running fast is all psycology.

    If sprinting and good coaching are national pastimes in Jamaica then shouldn't there be both white and black Jamaican sprinters in the Olympics? In the NBA why do the black athletes jump considerably higher as a group than the white athletes? Are you saying there is no case to be made for genetic differences between races?

    What? We Jamaicans are the fasted sprinters in the world? Sweet, I'm going to add emphasis by practicing MY sprints as we get even Faster!
    Granted, if we choose for ourselves to pursue something else, we'll do it with excellence. 'I bet we Jamaicans could do that bobbysleddy thing they do up in the snow....' or 'I bet I can excel as the only/first dark skinned neurosurgeon'. It's not that we have a propensity to be better at one based on where we were born, but that we choose to pursue one.

  • @CapoeiraCristao
    @CapoeiraCristao 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think sprinting medalists tend to be dark skinned because that's what we've been conditioned to do - like Dr. Graham was saying. In Western culture we're taught, in a way, that "the thing" dark skinned people have going for them is sports - basketball, football, sprinting. So that's what they practice. If we were taught that dark skinned people did neurosurgery, we might pursue that instead. It's a cultural mindset, strengthened by practice, like water trails....

    No it would not. The primary reason black sprinters are faster than white ones is due to genetics. The minute details that separate black elite level sprinters are explained partly by the reasons you gave.

  • @LuckynumberSlevin11
    @LuckynumberSlevin11 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Black and fast are synonyms in the sprinting world. Asking why are black sprinters faster than white sprinters is self-explanatory.

    Spam with "hot sauce"!according to some. I don't care one way or the other. the athleticism is amazing either way. what i hate is the coke and macd ads with the athletes that sends all the wrong messages to the youth and all the rest of the commercialism makes me want to throw-up.

    Its not a genetic thing at all. We pride ourselves in the sport of running. This is where a large part of our community direct our focus towards and as a result we do well. Some people joke that its because we master the art of running from our slave master for fear of being killed if found after running away......running for our lives! It's what we have been conditioned to do over a very long period of time. Its in our psyche

    What he says is correct but genetics are more important.
    In Greece, we started to love basketball at 1987, when we won the Euro (Nikos Gallis was our hero) but we are never going to be better than the Americans.
    We can't compete with a (Western) country, that has 47 million Black people.
