Most car dealerships pay employees and set bonuses for cars sold MONTHLY, and at the end of the month, salesmen get more desperate to move inventory, so if you want a good deal, ESPECIALLY ON A TRADE IN, it is in your best intrest to buy a car close to the end of a month. My car was 5k cheaper than normal, and I got almost 80% of the value for my old 2012 toyota camry Edit, because it was also mentioned: bonuses usually are based on yearly performance, so near the end of the year is also a good time to close in on a deal.
correction This is how car dealerships scap customers that come and try to sell their car (if its not totaled like this one though)... I went to a dealer 3 times and I bought a car and I took the car to a different dealer in a different city... I bought the car for 9K and the other dealer was offering me 700 bucks for the car (imma talk about the first one only) so I was asking why so low... And he started pulling out all the things that were wrong with it... I did have it recorded (with permission ofcorse) and then I took it to the dealer where I bought it and refunded the car. After the refund was complete and they put the car back on sale for the OG price, I sent my friend to buy the car instead of me and I gave him the video... He came back with the car and in the end we paid 1000 bucks for the car instead of the original 9K...
I’m a part of this industry with hail damage and dents on cars, if it’s damaged, they are legally required to present you a disclosure of hail damage. You don’t even need to see the car, if they give you the disclosure, negotiate a lower price.
