- I've had this old tent for a long time, and dust it off every chance that I get. After spending last week cooped up in the minivan I wanted to put the EcoFlow Wave 2 & Glacier to the test, by expanding my footprint with some luxury camping in this cheap tent.

This thing looks pretty big, and I'm not sure if my two-person tent has enough space to use it. I mean, I definitely don't wanna spend a whole night in a cramped tent.
Hot tip to keep bugs away-spray tent and all gear with permethrin, let dry. Ready for use.
Now that you mention it, I have some permethrin treated cloths. I never have any bug problems wearing them.

Have you not had any issues with this previously? I've looked into that before and there is some caution against using it on tents, as the waterproof treatment may prevent the permethrin from soaking in and permethrin may degrade the waterproofing. The non-petroleum based stuff, such as Sawyer, might be safe but I personally wouldn't tempt it. I'd possibly treat a ground tarp in advance that would go around the front of the door. I'm a little leery of spraying my tent but wouldn't mind the extra protection against ticks or spiders.
Those sausages are already fully cooked just like a hot dog. They’re obviously better warmed up but you can technically eat them right out of the package. We carry a tablecloth with us and a few clips. It doesn’t take up any space and is nice to have

Hehe you got a Jake from State Farm outfit!! Your hack with the AC tube is something i need to remember next time i rely on gravity to do some draining, haha - I do NOT want mold bc of humidity.... Especially here in florida!!

That's a cheap tent, and you'd be better served cutting a rectangular hole in it and putting a window AC unit stacked on some milk crates to pump cool air into the tent. Much cheaper and more efficient. Overall, this setup seems incredibly niche and low use. You're wasting a lot with low return on investment. If you camped a lot in the heat and needed to go this route I'd say maybe buy an insulated tent to modify and book electric campsites which are only a few bucks more for shore power and you may see a return on investment in a couple years of heavy use. You could also rent a cabin or RV for more comfort amenities that you'll only use occasionally. You gotta crunch the numbers and see what makes sense for you overall.

It was easy to setup.
Good use of new innovative equipment. ANY air conditioner, which works, is WELL worth having in a hot tent. Ain't no sleeping in a hot tent for me. I just won't camp in the heat..
It can be tough for sure, and at a place like that there’s no reason not to do it.

I'm considering a portable air conditioner. Wave 2 is still too difficult to power. I don't have the Ecoflow energy storage product, but it seems designed to be a companion to a power station. I will choose the more portable and easy to power zero breeze mark2.
If battery storage is a concern, go with the Icy Breeze. It relies on ice and limited power consumption.
Why not put the drain hose out the corner
70 is pretty hot 60 is best for sleeping

There has never been a "thorough" TH-camr video about bug and insect management while boondocking. Mosquitoe and mice repellants have been discussed more than enough. But what about gnats, crawlers and creepers in vans and tents??

Thanks for sharing this! I'm a nurse that is going back to school and I have to travel out of town every week for a few days. I've converted my truck camper shell and I've been looking at options for cooling that are lighter weight and portable. Something that requires less setup/ breakdown for when I need to leave early in the morning. Have solar available but don't mind plugging into the grid when it's available at certain sites. Any suggestions are appreciated.
That EcoFlow Wave 2 is a decent small system, but if you have shore power a regular AC unit is more cost effective.
I think a Clam shelter would be a lot easier than your 6 man tent, and a lot cheaper than your awning.
Not a bad idea. I checked them out this summer, but decided to stick with what I have. Maybe next year.

I'm not new to your channel, I just had a senior moment. I live in southern Georgia and it's just too dang hot to camp during the summer. I camp from fall through till late spring. I'm having withdrawals from my minivan.

Did you stake down your tent?
I didn’t. The gear kept it weighed down. The edges creeped up a little throughout the night, but I stretched it back to normal in the morning. I prefer the minivan over the tent.
I have one of those coleman stoves. Got it when i stayed at a hotel for like a month. It was handy in my room now but during the pandemic it was hard getting fuel at Wal-Mart cuz they were always out. I should go check again. It was great for when u are watching a show u dont want to miss any of it and u want to make a snack. Especially nacho cheese cuz u can keep reheating it.
That’s why I keep a stack of cans on hand. Luckily I had a few in 2020.
dont know where you live but, if walmart or other stores are out, have a look at asian food stores. those butane stoves are extremely common. i have a store near me (ocean mart) that sold cases of the butane fuel, i got 24 cans for about $20
@@moparkr really? I checked walmart and they don't have the butane anymore and $20 for 24 is cheap walmart was selling individual cans for $3
@@that1guy82 yep. i think they were just trying to get rid them, must of had 200 cases on pallets. the cans are not going to be coleman or some brand you can even read the name of but its a standard butane can. i've been to south korea and the philippines and those little stoves are what alot of people use to cook on everyday. my wife is from the philippines and we are at those food stores often. it isint a place most people would think of to get them.
It would work in that tent. I did it later in the Louisiana summers heat an humidity. I had to pulled air from the outside and exhausted to the outside.
But aside from that. Having a similar type of tent. What I did was made sure I set up in a shade area. What I should have done was just strung up a tarp a few feet above the tent to block all sun from it.
But also when setting up the tents since there was so much netting. I brought some of them moving blankets. An just took a scissors and played the moving blankets over the tent hanging down the sides.
A cut slits where needed to pull the tent pool clips through. So took 3 moving blankets. An a foot or so from a corner on each one. Sliced a hole. Pulled the top pole connections through and slowly worked my way down the poles cutting a slit for each connector to go through an connected to the pole.
There were 3 moving blankets laying all over the top and down an around the sides of the tent. Between the tent and the poles. Than put the fly on top of that.
So essentially it closed off all on the netting and insulated it least some.
Than I have 65’ power cord from the solar 4 200 watt panels. Going to a Bluetti ac200p 2,000 solar generator to have that a the AC inside of the tent in the shade a cooler temp. To have them wherever the sun is without issue.
With the Zero Breeze mark 2. An that’s only 2300btu vs the wave 2 5100.
It was ok in the day time. But bytime night came I ran it in eco mode and it was cool/cold all night

@@AdventureGearTV I definitely prefer my minivan. The whole reason I built out a Sienna is so I wouldn’t have to set up a bunch of crap anymore! That just looked like so much stuff and so much work! 😂
You don’t like the idea of driving hours to a parking spot and then Spending all day trying to make the experience like sitting in your living room? A good cooler and a bag of ice lasts longer than those fridges….
Don't buy this thing. the battery need the top part (36Lb) main machine to charge the add on battery. So, wherever you need to charge the battery, you need to bring the top part. Just don't understand why the battery is detachable for no meaning. They don't have an individual charger for the add on battery. the designer is out of mind. Don't make sense.
I just got the Delta 2 Max, so I’ll try to mate the Wave 2 battery with it. If they’re not compatible, then I would pass on the battery and run the wave 2 off of a separate power station.
