Jug Jet - Jug Jet With Methanol - 5 Gallon Bottle Rocket - Five Gallon Bottle Jet With Methanol

Used Methanol to make a flame jet out of a plastic jug instead of Isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
The videos I've seen on TH-cam usually use rubbing alcohol, but I think if you use methanol then you might be able to get a more powerful jet because methanol has a higher vapor pressure, & a lower boiling point.
It wasn't always as successful as what is shown in this video. I tried about 8 times, and it went this well twice.
I had a couple different problems: incomplete replacement of the air in the bottle after a test, waiting too long to light it after shaking it around, and not putting enough methanol in.
Even though a sufficient vapor pressure is achieved with a small amount of methanol, you can get forward momentum by expelling methanol out the back, and watching the video in slow motion, it looks like the flame and the pressure is able to grab the methanol that is sitting on the ground (on the side of the jug) and expel it all out the back, giving much more forward momentum than you would get if it was just a flame jet based off perfect stoichiometry.
You might notice saran wrap on the end of the bottle. Once the air was replaced, and new methanol was poured in, I would put cellophane over the end and shake it vigorously. The cellophane kept everything from falling out and let the vapor in the bottle reach equilibrium.
