      Remarkably Japan's infection rate is staying very very low and things seem to be going back to normal every where. I hope it last but I'm worried at the same time about the fact that even scientists don't know the reason.

    This is so cool to see above a city! I'm not really a bird person so we're at the limits of my knowledge, but these flocks are called murmurations; I think they happen so that starlings migrating in from other countries can meet with those who never left or arrived earlier. Pretty sure starlings are the only birds to do this, too, so that's neat.
    I hope someone who knows more exactly can give us a definitive answer but until then that's mine.

      Thank you very much for teaching me. I didn't know there was a word to describe this behavior. Probably there should be a word in Japanese too but I learned the English one first thanks to you! 😄

      @@VSV_Japan Glad that was helpful! If you find the Japanese word for it I'd be interested to know. Thanks so much for making these brilliant videos!

    Wow! Amazing experience, Yoshi San! It seems that these murmurations are common to most birds. Where I live, it's doves and swallows that do it. The latter do it in summer. Other birds also engage in this "get together" behavior, chirping loudly, as if they wanted to check that no one is missing from the group. Nice city, too. Thank you for this beautiful walk. 🤗🙋🏻‍♀️
    PD: Alfred Hitchcock would have been extremely happy there! 🕊️

      Isn't it devilish?! Alfred Hitchcock's movie "Birds" came in to my mind when I saw them flying over. 😄

      @@VSV_Japan For me, I immediately thought of "The Swarm" by Frank Schätzing :D

    • @VSV_Japan
      @VSV_Japan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that too! When I shot this video, I was going to name it "Swarm of birds in Fujisawa" but I checked my English on the Internet, I learned the word "swarm" is mainly used for insects not birds, so I changed my mind... 😄

    • @FlexxenRandomPlaces
      @FlexxenRandomPlaces 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VSV_Japan Well for any German speaking viewers, swarm would be totally okay as the literal translation is "Schwarm" and Germans don't distinguish between insects and birds in this case :D

    Fujisawa 🇯🇵 time stamp 4:20-5:43pm the birds seemed to be flying around that one building with the elevator 🛗 going up and down with the round circle on top the people who studies bird need to go to the top of their building being careful and see what’s going on from there and the tree line as well . Or it could be the building itself sound noise???? You should hand got a MC D’s take out order to take home at the end of the video. 👍📸🇯🇵

    • @VSV_Japan
      @VSV_Japan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually there are trees next to the building and they sleep on them. They fly around only for 5 mins or so everyday before they come don't to the trees to sleep. Interesting behavior.
