2024, 13 years, i doubt anyone my age would be here let alone anyone in general, but i’ve got so much pure love and appreciation for tim buckley. i found him through jeff, and honestly his voice is truly unmatched and beautiful. i’ll miss him forever, even if i wasn’t there to see him live.
@@calen1903 I'm fourteen too, and Tim's music has been such a special thing to me since I found him two years ago. His music is just so beautiful, and it's so great to see people my age who also like him. When I first started listening to this type of music, I would try to convince myself not to because I thought it was weird to like it since I didn't know anyone my age who did. But I'm so lucky to have some friends now who do. Music has been such a big part of me, and I think I would call him one of my favorites.
This is my favorite Tim Buckley song. I had a huge musical awakening through his son's music. I find that Tim's music has the same affect on me. This song continues to bring me to tears, just as Jeff's work has. Its a shame to lose such great talent and it hurts to know that Tim didn't find huge success with his work. Our generation needs this music. Kids these days don't know the affect music like this can have for them and I feel blessed to be one of the few to have taken a liking to it.
why can't musicians make music like Tim or Jeff's. great song writing and amazing vocals. music has taken one huge dip. we need another tim or jeff to revive the music industry.
Sorry, I gotta disagree, Jeff was great, no argument, but he couldn't touch his old man, no way Jose. This is pure gold. This is amazing. There's no contest.
No one ever sang his own material better than Tim Buckley. Every time I remember how young he died, I get all angry and nostalgic. A truly great musician.
This is an extraordinary song and performance, and it never fails to move me. Tim Buckley was one of the finest singers to have ever lived. His untimely loss is felt even today, and the death of Jeff his son deepened the sense of tragedy surrounding the Buckley name/legacy in popular music. A terrible shame because it draws attention away from the truly marvellous voices Tim and Jeff possessed.
What so you know about anything Jace? Have you lived a life? Are you an artist? Made the sacrifices required to express something in this world that resonates with others? Have you listened to Tim Buckley's Dream Letter? It killed him that he left his son, but he did what he had to do to. There's more to life than playing happy families and leaving bitchy comments online.
amazing. I can hardly tell the difference between this live performance and the record copy. There are few musicians who can pull that off. The only discrepancies come from how many rests he puts between stanzas.
Such great imagery. I haven't listened to this song in many years, but I started thinking about it yesterday and I wanted to hear it again. Replaying it again after all these years has made me think about my mother who died nine months ago.
It's not about picking a "best era" for the sake of picking a best era. It's about looking at the music and the passion and people behind it and basing it on that. I have an immense variety of music I listen to and love, from classical to old r &b and blues to east Indian to reggae to rock to jazz to whatever, and I can definitively say that music today in general is on a downward spiral and Jeff and Tim could stand up against ANYthing made today and kick anyone and everyone's butts. The end.
In my heart is where I long for you In my smile I search for you Each time you turn and run away I cry inside My silly way, too young to know any more In my world the devil dances and dares To leave my soul just anywhere Until I find peace in this world I'll sing my song everywhere, too young to know anymore The wind covers me cold The starry skies all around my eyes Far behind the city moans Well worthy of the people there, oh, the songs they love to hear So please let me sing a song for you One I've known so very long Please let me sing a song for you To help your day along, oh, please could you find the time? In my heart is where I long for you In my smile I search for you Each time you turn and run away I cry inside My silly way, too young to know any more In my world the devil dances and dares To leave my soul just anywhere Until I find peace in this world I'll sing a song everywhere, oh, please could you find the time? Tim Buckley performed at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia in 1968 or 69. I sat on the floor in front, a very small venue. Gypsy Woman was my favorite song. I still miss him.
Im certain I have heard his music befor but I heard 'I Once Was ' recently and its like Im seeing dimentions of his music that I never before realized. That song especially is truely timeless.
Great song, both father and son had a very good open ear to every kind of music, im going to do a version of I 'Never Asked To Be Youre Mountain on my site' .
Tim Buckley performed in his last concert on this day in 1975 {June 28th} in Dallas, TX... Sadly, the very next day he passed away at the young age of 28... Make he R.I.P.

I thought I was the only one here. I’m 14 and love both Buckley’s.

I miss this man a lot. The world misses men like him a lot.

An unrepeatable genius, an unrepeatable voice, an unrepeatable soul...
That 's what this tender genius will be for ever and ever
Beautiful. Gets you right in the heart, doesn't it?
It does.
I cant believe what l am hearing no wonder his son was a good singer they both were gorgeous and so talented died too young
why can't musicians make music like Tim or Jeff's. great song writing and amazing vocals. music has taken one huge dip. we need another tim or jeff to revive the music industry.
I swear this man and his son were musical geniuses.. loved and still missed
Sorry, I gotta disagree, Jeff was great, no argument, but he couldn't touch his old man, no way Jose. This is pure gold. This is amazing. There's no contest.
It's good to see that there still folks out there that still appreciate his wonderful music.
Tim has got that wonderful, solid voice that just knows how to emote very single lyric of the song. Truly his most beautiful song.
I start crying when I hear this song, it's SO beautiful.
This song is so exquisite and personal. Not for everyone I'm sure, but truly one of a kind.
Amazingly beautiful. Wish there were still singers like this. No production enhancements. RIP Tim.
God those eyes, that voice....
No one ever sang his own material better than Tim Buckley. Every time I remember how young he died, I get all angry and nostalgic. A truly great musician.
one of the most beautiful song ever written on our big blue planet
He makes me shiver. I love him and his music ❤

beautiful... he makes it look and sound so effortless... one of my favourite songs ever
He is so great; a true beautiful and sensitive soul.

I... I think I'm in love with this man's voice, such a great artist. Can't get enough!
Jeff and Tim Buckley best singers in the World :) :*
amazing. I can hardly tell the difference between this live performance and the record copy. There are few musicians who can pull that off. The only discrepancies come from how many rests he puts between stanzas.
His voice! Oh my gosh! I'm in love with this song~
I like him even more than his son Jeff, his voice was more "round" and warm. Some more nostalgic...
Jeff could possibly said: "Only through me you can come to the Father..." :))
oh god, i love Jeff and Tim.such great musicians, and talented father and son. love them.
Such great imagery. I haven't listened to this song in many years, but I started thinking about it yesterday and I wanted to hear it again. Replaying it again after all these years has made me think about my mother who died nine months ago.
Yes. This is what songs are for. TIM BUCKLEY LIVES ON!!
these lyrics are something else
We're still listening and appreciating your poetry, Tim.

heartbreaking, and beautiful...
Wonderful, unforgettable, really ahead of its time, simply a piece of poetry...
One of the finest voices in pop history.
For me what makes Tim great is his voice his 12 string playing.
vorrei tornasse tra noi... IMMENSO... ! i brividi sempre... e ogni tanto le lacrime.
Perfect
Amazing
In my heart is where I long for you
In my smile I search for you
Each time you turn and run away I cry inside
My silly way, too young to know any more
In my world the devil dances and dares
To leave my soul just anywhere
Until I find peace in this world
I'll sing my song everywhere, too young to know anymore
The wind covers me cold
The starry skies all around my eyes
Far behind the city moans
Well worthy of the people there, oh, the songs they love to hear
So please let me sing a song for you
One I've known so very long
Please let me sing a song for you
To help your day along, oh, please could you find the time?
In my heart is where I long for you
In my smile I search for you
Each time you turn and run away I cry inside
My silly way, too young to know any more
In my world the devil dances and dares
To leave my soul just anywhere
Until I find peace in this world
I'll sing a song everywhere, oh, please could you find the time?
The wind covers me cold
The starry skies all around my eyes
Far behind the city moans
Well worthy of the people there, oh, the songs they love to hear
So please let me sing a song for you
One I've known so very long
Oh, please let me sing a song for you
To help your day along, oh, please could you find the time?
Simple but boundless...
What a rare treat.... thanks for the memories
Beautiful
Lyrics:

Each time you turn and run away I cry inside
My silly way, just too young to know any more
In my world the devil dances and dares
To leave my soul just anywhere,
Until I find peace in this world
I'll sing a song everywhere I can
Just too young to know any more
The wind covers me cold
The starry skies all around my eyes
Far behind the city moans
Well worthy of the people there
Oh, the psalms they love to hear
So let me sing a song for you
Just to help your day along
Let me sing a song for you
One I've known so very long
Oh, please could you find the time.
Hauntingly Beautiful
such beauty !!! such words : the wind covers me cold. Don't like much his funky period of greetings but till Lorca, it's magic

Nice!!!
I LOVE THIS SONG!
What a gem!
Is it so hard to have the simple perspective to see how incredibly great this is, especially compared to what passes for great music now?
"To leave my soul just anywhere
Until I find peace in this world"
:))
I was just talking to Lee Underwood on FB and he inspired me to watch this clip and I sang it in the bathroom after I mentioned it to him ❤️
THE BEST!
Where has he been all my life?
Great song, both father and son had a very good open ear to every kind of music, im going to do a version of I 'Never Asked To Be Youre Mountain on my site' .

A great theme of Tim Buckley, to contribute to album a curious equilibrium!!!
Thanks!

Just a beautiful song for a beautiful woman.
