    Please do not introduce them to toothpaste chemicals and synthetic toothbrushes. What they have works perfectly for them. Yes you can help them with easy access to water but their method of oral hygiene is perfect.

    And let's not forget that twigs are biodegradable and toothbrushes are not, so introducing modern hygiene tools would mean more pollution.
    If traditional hygene works for them just let it be.

      My Ego Considering the lack of resources they have, they certainly do more than the average person living in a developed country to maintain their hygiene.
      Using branches in order or the maintain a healthy mouth to some degree, is going above and beyond in comparison to the others who are too lazy to brush twice a day given they have the resources to do so.

    I've been using miswak for two weeks and the result is awesome. No morning breath, even after a meal the smell of the food inside your mouth is lesser. I would recommend to anyone and now some of my colleagues in the office are trying it.
    I use it and rinse with water a little bit. The taste is not so pleasant but the goodness is amazing

  • @BledaRassmar
    @BledaRassmar 10 ปีที่แล้ว +196

    I think this is awesome. There are people who do things like chew gum or toothpicks or ice, or play with their hair, or whatever, just to keep busy while they think. This keeps your teeth white and breath fresh! And no nasty fluoride to build up in your body and cause dementia later in life. Plus, no toothbrushes or toothpaste tubes to throw away and fill landfills. And they don't have to use more water, which they have to haul in. The only downside is that it sure can get your face messy.

    • @0MisssMile0
      @0MisssMile0 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      BledaRassmar actually you can brush your teeth with a niswak without getting a messy face.. so it depends on how you use it 🤔

      Giving them what! Africa is rich in natural resources! You're right, they shouldn't keep giving them things! What they need and all they need is in their own country! However, westerners keep coming in and telling them, "You need what we have and use!" NO THEY DON'T! Leave them to their own resources. DON'T GIVE THEM ANYTHING! What do you mean, "I'm all for pursuing development while trying to retain cultural habits like this as much as possible." You and know one else has the right to say how much of their cultural habits they should maintain. wow. From what you've seen????????? Where are you standing while doing all of this seeing???????? puuuhhleeeasse!!!! The way to eliminate hunger is to eradicate and eliminate outsiders trying to tell these people how they should and should not live. Forcing them to live as the western world or have resources withheld from them. You are saying they need to follow the western world's practices in order to live right. The western world is all you know so you think it is the only way, the right way. That is where your short-sighted-ness lies.....your limited sight and knowledge of good and clean living. Mass consumption is why the western world is in trouble, the land is going bad, people are getting fatter and requiring more and more drugs. That's civilization, huh?!!! not.

      Childish! Why are you cussing? In order to have an adult conversation you would need to leave the profanity out of it! Don't come at me like that again!

    • @Everythingfreshandsassy
      @Everythingfreshandsassy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tiny Reader I am always interested in the conversation, minus any insults and /or profanity. The opportunity to have an exchange went out the window when you began using words that have little to no meaning, and certainly no bearing and context to this conversation, at which time this conversation was over, null and void. There was no cause for you to use profanity in speaking to me. How you feeel about your language is on you but you directed at me and I take great exception to anything but civil conversation. Now if you feel your language is acceptable, towards a complete stranger, who has not spoken to you in that manner, then you should find those that would engage in that type of exchange . I'm not interested. There will be no further response from me, to you.

When going through puberty it’s natural to have a lot of acne because of the high level of oil production and oil clogged pores contribute to acne, but there the dust would dry the oil and people in Africa already have less oily skin in general, that’s just one factor. I agree that basically all products that you use to clear up acne causes more, I like to just let it run its course.

    I heard that this way of brushing is better than brushing with toothbrush and toothpaste from our elders and we could also add charcoal powder. The teeth is also whiter.

    • @MetropolisHUMAN

      True that charcoal is a good teeth whitener as well. Paradoxal, but true.

    "Happy WorldPeace
    Nancy N they gave them fluoride toothpaste"
    And that is a problem too. Their water contains enough flouride. Adding flouride to their routine is throwing their body system off.

    You can get it on Amazon. It is widely used by Muslims so it is available. I think it is starting to be sold in America/UK too (assuming you're from there :)), so you can look around.

    I’m Kenyan but my parents are from Nairobi (the capital/city) and I went to visit for the summer and we weren’t poor or anything we have a house people working for us to . It was nice but I hate to see all these “wow these people must be so poor there”
