Just so you know, Wortox doesn't get hungry faster, he just gets half stats from all human food.
He actually gets hungry slower, as he starts the game with a day and a half worth of souls along with 175 hunger, which lasts 2 days and 1/3 of a day.
But eating souls is slow in general in order to mass produce hunger, you might not consider how much more time is wasted from repeatly eating the souls with his eating animation. But it stacks up real hard imo

DST is a multiplayer game.
Having a character that has an easy source of food and healing can save countless meatballs.
Souls are overpowered with people, especially beginners who don't know how to use the crockpot.
Saying souls are bad just makes you look like somebody who doesn't have a single friend to play DST with.
Wortox isn't that powerful by himself, but he is amazing in groups. The reason why he is a DST ONLY character.

Late comment: after the farm update, wormwood can now heal himself with rot for 4 HP which is enough for anything thats not a boss when you should use honey poultice. Also he is one of the best users of the shadow sword + night armor combo because of his insane sanity restoration when planting seeds

I think Woodlegs is tier B, mainly because his hat makes thulecite renewable, and you can get things like a thulecite club, or walking cane early on, i addition to that, his boat still useful in hamlet.
For me, his only problem is his sanity (but you can control it with a tam o shanter, cactus and green caps)

WX is fantastic in solo play, the problem with playing with others is that they tell you never to eat gears in the overworld so they have you wait until you get to the ruins to let you have gears, which probably isn't a big problem for everyone, but I hate getting badgered by players for eating gears I found in tumbleweeds when theres already an ice box
I killed more bosses as a wilson main than a noob wolfgang main so it doesn't makes any sense that the character is op... but mostly agree

Wormwood is good in multiplayer, but can also work in singleplayer if your not a coward and not afraid to chop some trees and kill some spiders.

I was playing Hamlet and found a moleworm in a cave. I tried to be nice to it , see if it could redeem itself for existing, so I put it on the ground near my nettles. The little piece of tunneling garbage dug to the water and made a burrow. It would've been fine, if only you could dig while on a boat! It caused a permanent eyesore, which is why I will never try being nice to a moleworm again.

Honestly, I would’ve put Wilson in B tier, because I’m a bit bias and am a Wilson main. However, you can’t really go wrong with Wilson, he’s really just the bread and butter of Don’t Starve, pretty good, but not that good.
Yes, a certainly agree, wilson actually has a specific playstile, a relaxed one, with his free insulation, infinite passive revives, and no downsides, i think wilson has to me my personal fav char

he has had his voice in many vids before this
I might be bias but for me woody is in a tier no matter which game it is since he's a good resource gather. Since reworked woody speaks for himself. I'll talk about d's woody in d's wherebreaver is strong and when fighting and you don't have to worry about food hunger since all his meters transform into a log meter which is easyly mantiened and if your fighting bosses bring them to the forest or plant pine cones near them. Beaver can also save you from death if you have really low stats. In shipwrecked if you find a good island turn into beaver and pillage it . don't know about Hamlet since I haven't played it much.

Wendy is by far one of the greatest spider farms, If there isnt a webber, then wendy is best next thing. Pop a nightshade and say good night to the spiders. Same applies to bee hordes, also hounds. she is at least B tier. (EDIT) I forgot to mention abi is a distraction for bosses.

I play single player and canNOT exist without Willow's lighter and her fire immunity. If I had to always make torches and get singed by my camp fires, I would cry. Legit, I've recently gotten DS and have played circa 300+ hours and most of that was Willow, amazing character

Wes is S tier.
In solo where you’re not a complete detriment to your team. Yes he forces you to to get better at the game, yes he forces you to get more familiar with the mechanics. But in DST every player counts, and having a player who’s only got downsides and no upsides on your team is just going to drag everyone else down. It would be acceptable if it were a Wes only server, but otherwise no.
Just to clarify slasher is giving each character their rank based on solo performance, not team based performance, we all know that even some of the worst characters can be very good if applied in the correct team, but every single one of his videos he is solo so he is basing it off of his solo experience.

Wendy should be at an A or atleast B tier because she has abigail which is best to get rid of smaller weaker enemies that are higher in quantity
Wick and webber should be A tier, wick has a super fast early game in where she can skip everything from the science tier and go straight to the alchemy engine, she can grow food and twigs/grass stocks pretty fast, yeah she is better with a team but so is wolfgang in that case, and he's in A, also she's a fast krampus farmer and is one of the only characters who can kill the bee queen without getting her hands dirty.
As for webber he's a good silk/gland/meat farmer, he can start a spider war which yields insane profit, he can kill pigs with the help of the spiders and be pretty much immune to hound waves when you have a lot of nests (and all you need is a flingomatic so save the nests from fire hounds.) And another really good thing about webber is his neutrality towards the spider queen, and not taking dmg when eating monster prepped food, which makes him not dependant on berry bushes.
