I guess another comment to make on the vetterli silenced fmj is that, with the velocity being so low, you kind of have to leverage the security of that silencer and think "you miss a 100% of the shots you don't take." You were patient on the followup shots, but got the kill by just committing to the center of the shuffle and the hunter fortunately walked right into the shot. If you have the ammo (7+ in reserve), just risk the uncertain penetration or shuffling target shot. Become the Bob Ross of Hunt and make the most of those happy little accidents.
That truly was a showdown. I do like the single match story format and focusing on how that loadout choice affects the play by play, as well as the additional stoppages to points out the advantage/disadvantage of the situation (i.e. traps buying time to revive). Oh, nice Reshade on the first kill, by the way :P.

The regular bolts are basically a hand shotgun and the chaos bolts are great for distractions and diverting the enemies' attention away from me. Officer is the more reliable side arm and will win you more fights, but the hand crossbow is super versatile. With the dragon bolts, you can set people on fire without them knowing where you're shooting from, which is a lot of fun.

There seems to be a hiccup with the editing or encoding at the very end of the video. Also, Vetterli bayonet with FMJ is my swiss army knife weapon in Hunt. A combination of damage, rate of fire, and penetration that make it a terror at common gunfight ranges, and if you're too close to reload, you're probably close enough for a bayonet charge.
Great video and this is your second video im watching and i just have to say that your voice is really great and its easy to follow your videos. Keep up the cool work you are doing!
I've been running fmj on silent vetterli for years now. From time to time I have people who say 'don't run fmj, it makes the bullet so slow' as if the base ammo was some sort of speed demon :D
When the Vetterli Cyclone was announced, I decided to use the base Vetterli with FMJ to practice for it. Then I went absolutely *b o n k e r s* with it and found out that the Vetterli is one of those guns that just works for me no matter what (even though I rarely ever used the Cyclone after it came out, funny enough). If you're looking for another fun way to run the Vetterli, I highly recommend taking the Vetterli Marksman with FMJ or High Velocity, a very satisfying and effective sniper rifle that got me to 5 star for the first time ever! I also highly recommend pairing it with the Drilling Handcannon/Hatchet for close range medium/shotgun ammo destruction. Tl;dr: Hunt Lab is correct. Vetterli with FMJ very good.
I like the marksman with high velocity too. I just got done doing 100 kills with the vetterly and the Silencer with FMJ and Marksman with HV were my favorite by far.
The weapons are inconsistent on which part of the sights actually tell you where the bullet is going to go. I know the lemat carbine used to have an issue where the bullet would go slightly above the sight entirely, so maybe the supressed vetterli is similar.
Maybe am the only one, but in my experience fmj with vetterli silencer are like heat seeking missiles, i get hit and i hit the craziest headshot in situations were a mosin wouldn't cut it. There is just something to this combination that feels like your bullets are magnetic and attracted to people
I don't think Lightfoot helped with the vault. You were sprinting not too far away from the fence, and that's heard from crazy distances compared to the noise vaulting makes.
Yeah, I want to say sprints can be clearly heard 30-40m out. Though the grunt from vaulting would've been more audible and less likely to blend in with the trio's steps marching around in the open field.
It's only a 40m/s drop between standard and fmj. If you're already shooting that slow, I don't feel like the FMJ makes it that much worse. The wall pen and damage extention are worth it in my mind. That's the struggle of silencers in general. If you want a higher velocity silencer than you'll need to take the Windfield with HV or the centenial shorty. The vetterly gets the least benefit from HV compared to other silencers. The vetterly only gets +80 from HV, where the Windfield gets +200 if my memory is correct.
It's part of my custom ammo research. At the moment, it's for supporters only as it's in process. It will be shared publicly when i'm done with the project.
