I did that and with the higher ROF you get, the recoil is much greater and you go from missing 40% of shots to 80%. It is great when you have enemies clustered or are facing large enemies (even better in VATS with VATS geared perks), but the miss rate is so ridiculous on a single humanoid enemy.
@@nathanc8478 I always go for power armor which I believe has a recoils reduction built in, if not one of my mods definitely does it. Either way though light doesn’t have mass to lasers shouldn’t have recoil, at most they should be less accurate as a focusing element heats up and expands/warps.
@@Maxsmack notwithstanding the scientific argument of why lasers have recoil, I did some experiments with this and while the VATS accuracy stays the same with the ROF addition, when I shot at a target outside VATS I was missing about 30% more shots. It had the same spread, but it tended to the outside of reticles as opposed to just being seemingly random.
Started out with Children of Atom v Rust Devils, then the Synth came out of their tunnel. Wonder how many kills you would have gotten if you had a MIRV Fat Man and targeted the middle of that cluster in the beginning of the fight.
I’d go for the faster fire rate on Aeternus since you don’t have to worry about ammo. Just feels like a higher dps
