  • In this video, I compare the best & worst 4 piece snap ring plier set that Harbor Freight sells. Size, usability & even down to the price tag. I discuss the cumbersome convertible head design of the Pittsburgh pliers & how for a few more dollars, you can complete a job faster with the Icon set. I hope you enjoy the video, follow along for more tool reviews videos.

Now thought 7/7/24 is the perfect time to buy ICON hand tools. If you buy 4 or more you get 25% off, I out together a nice list. LOL

And ITC members usually get the deals early. If anyone shops at HF I highly suggest they become members to save even more money!

Those little cheapo snap ring pliers work great in a pinch, I throw them in a glovebox or my wrecking yard kits, but, as a constantly used set, they are a pain, just make sure you put the spring and latch on the opposite side of the interchangeable head

Absolutely correct. Smart move. I will keep them in my junk yard bag just in case I need them, as shown that they do work. If I forget them in a yard, no big deal. Valuable info about the side the latch goes on. Thank you.

I prefer the other convertible snap ring pliers.
No springs,no wobble,no little tips to lose, two snap ring pliers in one. You get one plier and it’s an external and internal in the same plier. It has two pivot holes and you just twist the pivot pin move it to the other hole. So one hole is internal and the other hole is external.

It is a great value for the snap ring pliers considering you get so many options with one set of handles, and if you hardly ever use them as a diy’r those are the ones I would suggest getting. I needed some for a real space saving area and the design of those made them difficult to use. With that being said, those cheap ones could last a lifetime and get the job done in most applications. Thank you for sharing!

Where do you find those, the idea was great from HF, but very clumsy to operate

@@teaglet I got them at harbor freight as well. They were a hot item at the time I got them so finding them in stock was difficult. Hopefully yours has better inventory!
