Sultan Suleiman has a serious heart attack. The doctors cannot promise about his health. Everyone gets worried that he's ill. It is hard for especially Hürrem to accept this. Hürrem decides that it doesn't have a meaning to live without Sultan Suleiman. All the relationships in harem goes through hard times.
İbrahim and Hatice get ambushed by the men of the dervish lodge. İbrahimm gets in a difficult fight to be able to save his family. The men takes Hatice as hostage. İbrahim needs to make a tough decision to be able to save Hatice.
Bali Bey and Ay Bige get cut off by the ships of Ottoman Empire. The two of them finds them in front of the gates of Topkapı Palace again. However, it won't be good for them for this time.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

This was the time when suleyman started fearing mustafa and understood what he is capable of, after that what happened is history.

This episide is where Vailde learns just what Maidhavren would do if Suleiman died. She would order the deaths of Hurrem & her children . Plus she said she would get rid of of Valide too either death or sending her to the old palace . She actually helps Hurrem by sending her kids to Hatice palace for saftey . Suleiman hears while in his coma how Maidhavren said about killing Hurrem & her children . Memmett Mirhimar Selim Bayezeid & changir would be immediately executed if Maidhavren becomes Vailde Sultana . This where Suleiman chooses slowly & over time to protect Hurrem & his children from Maidhavren evil plans . Hurrem Never wished for anyone but Suleiman to be on the throne . She is unwavering in her loyalty to Suleiman ruling . Maidhavren was praying Suleiman dies which Suleiman knows it he can sense his wife & children are in danger .

Suleiman’s near death event make Hurrem to become more stronger. From this episode she started to involve in politics as she need allies . The fear of losing her children is started from this episode and she make sure they are safe till she died.
I love the scene where the children pray for their brothers recovery and hurrem lay hands sulaiman.it shows how a mother raise her kids.😍😍

One of the most emotional scenes in the episode, when Ibrahim brought in his mind his first memories with Suleyman, when they were first met each other! The passion for glory destroyed one strong friendship!!

Gulfem seems to be one of the only genuine concubines in the harem. She loves his majesty despite their past and the fact she’s no long his favourite. She weeps when he’s sick and prays for his health and seems to genuinely always be fair with everyone. I really like her, I just wish she’d be more friends with Hurrem.

What an unusual mixture Suleyman was. On one hand he was a fierce, fearless and cunning soldier who wasn't shy to spill blood. On the other hand he loved music, poetry and the fine arts.
It looks like the Valide doesn't like it when her oh-so-dear Mahidevran shows ambition and isn't a nice, meek, obedient lapdog any longer. Wonder how long that rift will take to heal.
Talking about rifts and healing. Ibrahim had a chance to win Hurrem's friendship, or at least a ceasefire. All he had to do was to promise to protect her children. But he stood there tongue-tied and put his ambition about the life of her children. She will never EVER forgive or forget that.

Yes and grudging admiration for someone she's made life so hard for. But no matter what they did to Hurrem, her love for Suleiman remains strong and his for her. Also Valide Sultan sort of gave Mahidevran the side eye, too..... She knows how filled with hate and bitterness her heart is and that she's only about putting her son on the throne and would have been willing to 'help' speed Suleiman to the other side to achieve her sole goal.

In every time Hürrem and Valide had a conflict, Valide had a smirk of appreciation of Hürrem's intelligence, she internally knew she's smart and enjoyed that and at the same time it annoyed her because those around her were stupid as Mahidevran.
That's why Süleyman loved her because she's intelligent and strong yet so warm and soft when it comes to those she loves.
The costuming in this series was off the chart. Suleman outfits were exceptional, the color combinations he regaled as a SULTAN and off course Hurrem dresses.The harem provided us with many outfits
The scene when Hurrem walks in with her kids to see Sultan his awesome.
Valide accused her son for creating Hurrem and Ibrahim. However, she now had a brief glimpse of the monstrosity she created in Mahidevran.

This is the time when Hurrem knew that she cannot rely on anyone once Suleiman took his last breath., so many times that she asks from Ibrahim if she can entrust her children to him, but Ibrahim will not protect her children because he is so aware that they were a threat to Mustafa's ascending the throne. that’s why in the later part hurrem did all her best to remove all the obstacles for her children's way into the power and throne not realizing that in the end, her sons will fight with each other.
She was totally unprepared for the fighting between her sons. It totally took her by surprise. I felt bad watching all her efforts unravel 😞

dream sequence of young süleiman with his father sultan selim was so profound, and powerful. he repeats the line his father comments on his loss of innocence with age, and repeats it to his own son, mustafa as he comes of age. just beautiful. a wonderful look at how süleiman met his first love mahidevran as a prince, and eventually ibrahim - his life long friend. individuals whose remained consistent through his life, but whose roles to süleiman changed drastically.

I think Hurrem earned Gul Aga and Sumbul Aga's respect when he thought of no harm to Mustafa and bravely faced her and her children's fate head on. This is where Ibrahim and Mahi's intentions were revealed which eventually became Mustafa's downfall.
