- We sold our boat! It has been a sweet oasis for us over the past 4 years, but with our journey toward adoption, it's time to say goodbye!

Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and we are now in the process of growing our family through #adoption. We have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

We are SO thankful for our years with this boat! And thankful another family can use it now ❤️
It has been so beautiful to watch you two walk through this new open door toward adoption 🥰 even if some things have to be left behind 😌 very mature responsible decision 👏 you guys are acting like parents already😂🤷♀️ ❤

Do you remember how old you guys were when you had your first boat ride or your first memory of being on a boat? Just curious!

Peter, I remember one reason why you bought the boat, in memory of your dad who loved to go boating. How proud he would be of you and Mary that you are selling the boat to help welcome another grandchild into the world. Sorry, I’m an emotional and sentimental person. I’m so excited for you and this next phase of your life!

You can always get another boat when your child is old enough to enjoy one!
You can sell the boat now, and maybe when your child/ children get older, you can get a new boat! Maybe a pontoon or something that is great for families. It's just an "item". A "thing". You've got bigger fish to fry in this next chapter of your life!❤❤❤

Book for your child's shelf: Pete the Cat and His 4 Buttons. I could never get through reading it without tearing up when I was teaching. It's a repetitive book but the lesson behind it is incredible. Pete loses his buttons...buttons come and buttons go. This is true of life....things will come and go. And we all have to adapt to feelings of loss (whether ppl, pets, or things). You are entering a new season of life!!! That's big scary and big exciting at the same time!!!! Thanks for taking us with you!

I LOVED watching Ollie’s pure joy riding in the boat and playing in the water. No doubt you will guys will get another boat one day when your baby is old enough to enjoy it.
I feel you made a very good move. Why let it sit when others could enjoy it. You could always get another boat when the baby is older. God is really guiding you toward this baby.
It's a great time to sell a boat! We just sold our pontoon, we were bombarded with offers!

I grew up on a boat. My grandparents and parents took us kids. We spent every summer on my grandparents 1950’s Old Wooden Mahogany Outboard speedboat. The same one my mom skied behind as a 13 yr old girl. She’s now late 70’s. Hopefully you find the perfect boat to have fun with when you decide to introduce your future baby to.
Exciting! Trade old memories in for new ones! Itll be fine you guys, this is what life with kids is about.. .seriously! You wouldn't believe the things people have given up for their kids ❤

As a first time boat owner with my husband in May, I appreciate your willingness and foresight to see that your boat will be used more by a new owner. We were able to purchase an awesome 28 y/o boat, a dream of my husbands for many, many years. We actually overpaid to get the boat because the market is so crazy.
The way she looks at Peter is so beautiful.
Oh no not the boat. We were taking our children and grandchildren on boat rides and camping when they were a few months old. They grew up loving going to the lake camping, fishing, skiing, and just playing in the water. the earlier you start the better so they won't be scared. Well maybe you will get another one later.
They can still go out on boats. Rent a canoe for a weekend or borrow something from a friend. And maybe in a few years they'll buy another one.

This was sad to hear at first. Just thinking about how much joy Ollie, has had, but listening to the reasoning behind it all makes since. I’m glad Ollie, got to keep his water toy. Congratulations that it sold so fast. 🚤

I cried so many tears along with you throughout this video.
Tears of memories you guys have shared over the years and in recap today and then tears of sorrow for the pain and season I've in myself. 😢. Watching your excursions has been kinda my escape from being 98% confined to a room/home hospital bed and on IV poles and feeding tubes 24/7.
(Covid took what this medical mistake didn't. Covid took the last of my friends that even came by to talk to me.)
So congratulations to selling the boat and I can't wait for all the new memories and excursions you all make and possibly share with the coming years with your baby/child.

It was so fun to watch the days you took the boat out and all the fun memories you shared with us especially every time that Ollie used to get excited when being on the boat, and I'll definitely miss that but you are doing that for a really important reason, taking care of a child, and that's the best decision to make. Your child will be so proud of you!❤

Awww... My daughter is 6 and has grown up on our boat, some of our best memories of her when she started crawling and walking has been on our boat❤️ maybe eventually you can get another!!

I remember when we sold our “highland lass”. Boat. It was tough. I cried😢. We moved from Maryland to North Carolina. We had so much fun on the Chesapeake Bay!

I think they are almost ready with the process, so they could become parents in a month but it could take a year too. I think it depends lot if a birth mother wants them to adopt her baby.
There will be another boat when u are ready for another boat.

So sorry to hear about selling the boat! I know it’s been a joy and it’s been wonderful to watch the videos of you guys enjoying it! I love the idea that it will go to a nurse (since I’m one) and you’re right as far as the “baby kitty” goes. It would be a boost to the funds. Sad to see it go but you’re right. Sometimes there are hard times! Maybe you didn’t name it because deep down you knew you would sell it one day. Sweet Oasis! Perfect name! You even had me shedding a tear.
