- Paying a visit to the NVR for the Easter period, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley is captured on her final running day on the Nene Valley Railway, captured from the front window from Peterborough to Yarwell.
This was the engines first public event in her new BR Express Blue livery. Having filmed her from the lineside last week, I came back to the line to take a ride behind the eastern thoroughbred, having ridden her sister, 60009 Union of South Africa, 5 years prior on this very same line. The locomotive sounded stunning as she powered her train through the countryside, with the sun making her new paintjob all the more stunning.
A real credit to her support crew and the NVR volunteers. It really was a real treat to film this machine from the front window, even if the whistle was ear piecing! Turn up your speakers!
