Glad you enjoyed it. They don't open very often, but is well worth a visit..It was at the top of my list for ages but just couldn't get to the events...Glad I did though.
Nice video brings back happy memories of when I visited there around 15 years ago, it must be now when I was last on a family holiday in Norfolk which happily coincided with one of the open days . We were staying a village nearby and saw a poster advertising a garden railway open-day and though it might be worth a look. Was amazed what an impressive set up it was, a bit of a step up from your typical garden railway! Nice to see that its still going.
Glad you enjoyed it.You were lucky to get a visit as they don't open very often.Just shows what can be achieved with money and love for trains Michael...Great railway....Regards Chris
what a great looking little railway with some very interesting locos afew different designs a nice variety. also a lovely quarry hunsley one of my favourites.
We liked the Hunslet too,as we own one as well. The loco's are I think Belgium/Swiss/German.Very nice and different....Thanks for commenting......Regards Chris.
The loco's are something special and were very different to our uk.Most of the stalls were different charities we had some fun on the Tombola and Hoopla....Thanks for commenting......Regards Chris
We have been hoping to ride this railway for a long time,it was well worth the wait Bob.Nice that the local charities are allowed to make some money for there causes at the same time.......Regards Chris
great video and lovely railway. Can't believe I haven't seen your videos before! Very well produced and thanks for sharing. Of course, now I'm desperate to go on this line!
Many thanks for your kind comment, the line only opens a few times a year....As we have been trying to ride all the preserved standard gauge, narrow gauge and miniature lines plus Model Engineering Society's of the UK for the last 45 years,we may have seen and rode many railways you may never have heard of,some sadly no longer running.....Have a look through my videos and enjoy.I have filmed the ride on most of the videos for my reference, so I hope you don't get too bored............Best wishes Chris
We have filmed the Audley End M.R but it was a long time ago, many thanks for the offer and if we are coming again we will let you know.We might bring one of our own engines down to run on the 7 1/4 club track as well.........Best wishes Chris
Ahh you did get me! Saw you over the fence and gave a wave, the last train you filmed with the green carriages! First time I'd managed to make it to an open day here, great line they've got! a lot of groundwork went into that and even then you need big powerful locomotives to get up the hill. I don't think my 1hp electric would do well here...! Ben from King's Lynn Model Engineers :)
Must watch it and see if I can spot you, thanks for subscribing to my channel I hope you enjoy watching my videos.I'm sure your loco would be fine running on this line......Best wishes Chris
This is a great Railway..Nice scenery and good Track....liked the clip of the Wooden Bridge at 14:16...excellent shot....Shame it's only open 3 times a Year though...Excellent video....Cheers...Steve.-:)
Thanks Steve, yes it is a great track,I would have liked to film more of the track but it was fenced off, glad you liked the bridge shots........Best wishes Chris.
What a great film you have produced, a thumbs up from me. Like the look of the railway, loco's and track. I'd asked a cousin who often travels Kings Lynn to Hunstanton to tell me when there would be an open day. I might get there one day! I believe money raised goes to charities?
Yes Kay all events are for Charities.Next open weekend is August 13/14th and then the B/Holiday.The railway is in the village of Snettisham Norfolk. Thanks for the thumbs up.......Best wishes Chris.
A pity they dont open more often Chris , such a nice layout they have , with interesting Loco`s , the one shown not sure what it is American style , but she looks (both of them ) great ...Dave
Just three open weekends a year all for charities. We have been waiting a very long time to make this visit.Great day out Rosie dragged me kicking and squealing into Hunstanton to play on the Amusements, what a waste of money LOL!
They make it harder to get anything out of these machines by putting items/toys on top to weigh it down, you know your not going to win but it be nice just to get something out and if you did you only put in back in anyway.....Cheers.
@@wooltman US steam is/ was trully impressive and I think designed better as far as footplate and maintainance staff were concerned. Our 3-link UK couplings were pretty darn dangerous!
Hi Stephen. As I only was visiting the railway to ride and film it,sorry I cannot help you....Perhaps if you went onto the Norton Hill website somebody could help you.
Am re-watching before we open this year...thank you for having captured our happy memories. I am amongst the blue-clad in this footage
I film most of these videos for my reference,so it's nice to know others use them for that to...Good luck with your open days in 22 .....Regards Chris
Brilliant video! I've seen the railway's open days advertised in the past but not yet got around to visiting. Love the Former Yugoslavian theme!
Glad you enjoyed it. They don't open very often, but is well worth a visit..It was at the top of my list for ages but just couldn't get to the events...Glad I did though.

Fantastic big locos. 'Foreign' designs tend to get ignored in Old Blightey🤔
I agree but we have a few American in 7 1/4 gauge.
@@wooltman US steam is/ was trully impressive and I think designed better as far as footplate and maintainance staff were concerned. Our 3-link UK couplings were pretty darn dangerous!
Some very interesting engines, they seem to specialise in Yugoslavian locos. Nice shed-cum-garage they run through.
The loco's are very interesting and very different to the ones at other tracks we have been too.......Best wishes Chris.
Hey, have you ever been the churnet valley railway, fox field railway and the rudyard lake steam railway.(leek & rudyard railway.)
Yes we have been to all of them, many years ago,but Foxfield last year.We like the CVR must visit again.....Cheers Chris
+wooltman Thanks, a lot has changed at RLSR, it's now the LRR and under new ownership. But the CVR is just too much money now.
Can I have drawings for the spark-arresting chimney?
Hi Stephen. As I only was visiting the railway to ride and film it,sorry I cannot help you....Perhaps if you went onto the Norton Hill website somebody could help you.
