Well this is a Nintendo game where you play a fabled hero who use a magic sword to to kill evil i’m Not saying it isn’t a great game just that link is a hero that was crafted so the people can have hope in darkness so he can’t be a jerk
Kibago But the main theme is the hero's theme. I like it so much because think about it, the song of the hero was a song bestowed from Hylia to seal the Triforce. The fact that the Sheikah master got the inspiration of this song is such a maturing experience, just as much as Zelda's when she regains Hylia's power
Honestly made me tear up. You get so used to hearing Kass' theme being just the first few bars of this song, and then they expand on it and it moves organically into something so near and dear, and also thematically relevant for the song. The musical parts of this game are incredibly well thought out and executed.

Those adventures you had in the past meant something. We see you. This is what it's all built up to. Welcome back."

Almost 4 years since BotW. This is still one of my favorite things in the game, especially since it isn't marked as a quest or anything; just pure world building bliss. VladNorris I still call THAT particular 'zelda' tetra. Especially since tetra showed FAR mor charecter as herself rather than zelda. There is also lots of reasons why telink is a seperate ship...
Best quest in Breath of the Wild...by far. I started out thinking they were just boring old side / shrine quests...but by the end...damn. Shed a few tears at the beauty of it.
Its so wholesome to see him back at his family. Especially His wife really missed him! Now he can finally rest and play to the singing of the children. I did 7 quests for the most useless but the most wholesome and best reward you could get.
Kass is a great character. Definitely one of my favorites in the entire Zelda series. The way you are hiking across a field and hear that accordian riff before you even see him is so awesome to me. His story is interesting and mysterious too. I like his determination to be a great musician. Anyone else notice how the versions of his accordian songs are a bit different in this final scene? He layers up the harmony a bit more. That level of detail is satisfying. Then on top of all that you realise that he is the father of the 7 rito choir girls and he tells you the story about his teacher being jealous of Link because Zelda loved him. Thats the only actual confirmation that Zelda and Link are an item in the entire game. This final song he plays is beautiful. I had him play it like 6 times after i first heard it. That bit of story and that final song was well worth all the Kass riddles. Kass Amiibo when?
Well with totk out the part of the song “the hero the princess hand in hand” has alot more meaning considering it’s strongly implied that link and Zelda lived with each other they truly did bring the light back to the land hand in hand
This is a perfect example of how Breath of the Wild can be rewarding in a narrative sense and not just in materials. You spend this whole game running into Kass here and there, and you find shrines and rupees and all that, and the payoff is this incredibly moving moment that pays off on all the build-up Kass's appearances here and there have been leading to.
kass has always been one of my favorite npcs in the game and this made such a wonderful conclusion to his involvement in the quest. While ill definitely miss hearing his signature tune across highrule, hearing him and his children duet the rito theme throughout the day is such a sweet and well composed addition and the final song has such a grand feeling to it alongside kass' recognition of link being the chosen hero + his involvement with his beloved teachers motivations. hes such a wonderful addition to the game :,)
This song makes me cry every time I hear it, this was my first Zelda game but that transition into the main theme of the games was so beautiful that I just started to weep, thank you for being such an amazing game, BotW
Lel, spoilers for memories probably a stupid theory, or someone might've already said it. but, what if the only reason that Zelda finally used her power because she thought about Link? remember, when the first appearanceof Calamity Ganon in the memories, Mipha was talking about how she uses her power. how the, thinks about something. I just tough, what If Mipha was thinking about Link when she uses her healing power? because she did love him, and she has to think of link while healing him. The memory when she finally uses her power, she saves link from the Guardian. so she has to have been thinking about him (no shit). but I don't know, it might sound stupid.
Like Isaac Hayes (the voice actor for 'Chef' from South Park)? 'Okay, sit down, young hero, and let me sing you a song about making looooove to a woman!'
Thank you so much for uploading this. :D I already saw a vid that had this song in it, only the player spoke with Kass during the daytime when he was playing with his children, so maybe that's why later on, we got no explanation about Kass' teacher. So I got to see something new in this! :D Thank you again, and I do hope you end up posting all of Kass' scenes in one full video. :)
Kinda shaking my head here that people are having shipping wars over this. There is indisputable evidence of both Link/Mipha and Link/Zelda in this game. Problem is, Mipha's dead, and not coming back. She's not going to step on anyone's precious Zelink toes. There is no reason whatsoever for anyone to get defensive or overbearing over this.
I like how Kass always knew that Link was, well Link, the minute he saw the sheikah slate. He just doesn’t tell you that he knows until he’s relaying the final desires of his teacher.
The game one is true, in breath of the wild the name isn’t mentioned until someone named kass is singing and the songs last lyrics are “for the hero, shall breathe the breath of the wild” it sent chills down my spine
You know what makes this game phenomenal? This world is not just made for Link, there are travelers like Kass who also enjoyed exploring this massive land and witness these incredible things, just like you. You realized like life, there always be someone who making efforts to pursue the dreams, and that is inspirational, even you haven't meet them yet. I wish I could play this song calmly and gracefully, like Kass in his hometown.
The amount of layered characters and relationships that are sprinkled throughout BotW (both romantic and friendly) really shows how much Nintendo is willing to mature in some areas. I would love to see a direct sequel of this game with the same Link and Zelda, maybe even have that relationship start to subtly blossom? Heck, let Link talk every now and then, rarely, but occasionally make a comment.
Kass is a hero in his own right. A comforting bard on a hard journey, a welcome sight and sound even in the middle of nowhere, a helpful companion to reveal the secrets of uncharted areas and a proud father to his bright, young children.
Yeah I know right and it was link so any ppl saying “the teacher may have misinterpreted” are just straight up wrong Zelda litteraly saw her father (apparently) get capped off right in front of her and the familial love she had for him wasn’t enough to awaken her powers. Even when all of the champions are having their life’s threatened and she is crying because she feel hopeless she can’t awaken her powers only when links life is threatened (aka her love link) does her powers awaken proveing that the quote “Zelda only had eyes for link” is true since the deaths of her friends and family and the love for them wasn’t enough to awaken her powers. Only when her romantic love for link was threatened did her powers awaken and too note it is literally across timelines this is how strong her love for link is.
OKAY BUT CAN SOMEONE DO A ANIMATION LIKE A TERRIBLE FATE BUT LIKE SHOWING LINK AND ZELDA AFTER BOTW LIKE FIXING HYRULE AND BEING CUTE AND SHIT BC I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE
+TheFabulousKitten I've not seen any evidence yet that suggests the likelihood of it. Sure, we all hope that's the case. But realistically speaking, it could be anything.
This song always gives me goosebumps, even after the first few times hearing it... There's so much behind it too... I can feel the meaning behind the words, even if I don't understand it fully.
after hearing his final song, I went and fought ganon straight away. Throughout the game, seeing Kass in various places, always playing his accordion, made the game feel less lonely and it was always a nice surprise to hear his theme. The final song, the way Kass speaks to Link, made it seem like I was truly playing and fighting to save people. Kass made it feel like it wasn't just a game and I was doing it just because, but because I was actually saving hyrule and its inhabitants.
One of the most beautiful moments in a Game I have ever seen, the music is perfect and kass is such a good character, I hope he has a larger role in BOTW2
I remember at first I was annoyed when I was exploring and heard the accordion in the background. As i started doing the quests Kass definitely grew on me and this just sealed him as one of my favorite characters. I like how it's indirectly revealed that he immediately knew who Link was the first time he saw him but just kept playing it off.
for those who say link doesnt love zelda in the japansese translation he says he has to save zelda quickly cause he wants to see zeldas smile once more
There's that romantic spark. Maybe he's sayin', "I gotta save Zelda as fast as I can, cuz I wanna see her smile again with my OWN eyes." His wish ends up bein' granted cuz he sees her smile again. Maybe that says, "I've been fightin' so hard ta free you." Maybe the song All I Ask of You applies here cuz of the romantic feelin's he's got fer the princess (when he was born as a commoner). The Golden Ending could say somethin' like, "Anywhere YOU go, lemme go, too." Get it? His battle with Dark Beast Ganon could be like, "I love her! Does that mean nothin'?! I love her!" Maybe Zelda's smile could say, "Love me. That's all I ask of you."
I like that Link is literally incapable of not accepting the song.
*There is no need for a second option*

Zelda loves link! Finally after all the games!
Basara
uhh... skyward sword. this game... well we don't REALLY know. we do know that mipha loved link though.
It was implied she loved him in Minish Cap, Skyward Sword and Spirit Tracks.
TheFabulousKitten
Spirit tracks? I guess... even though petsonally I ship Telink.
Tetra and Zelda are the same person -_-
VladNorris
I still call THAT particular 'zelda' tetra. Especially since tetra showed FAR mor charecter as herself rather than zelda. There is also lots of reasons why telink is a seperate ship...
Zelink confirmed
one sided relationship confirmed
Drew Haynes *One side of the relationship confirmed
Zink
It's Zink, not Zelink
It's totally Zelink. I've never heard it any other way for years.
Best quest in Breath of the Wild...by far.
I started out thinking they were just boring old side / shrine quests...but by the end...damn. Shed a few tears at the beauty of it.
Can we talk about how cool it is that Kass plays along with the Rito Theme before you speak to him?
Kass Amiibo when?
but the fact that he is not in totk IM SOBBING
I AM LEARNING THE ACCORDIAN NEXT. GODDAMN YOU ZELDA FOR MAKING ME LEARN SO MANY INSTRUMENTS, AND BLESS YOU FOR IT AS WELL
I think.... Kass is my senpai
Biggus Dickus just leave.
Anthony Vauclair It's the hypnotic music I suppose.
Anthony Vauclair I feel the same
Kass is everyone's senpai.
But he isn't in school anymore?
I can picture his final song being a song in the next smash bros
Jared Block yes.
Man, Link and Zelda will have to be completely reworked for that game won't they.
Props for prophecy correctness
Jared Block trust me it’s not
Prediction correct
Well with totk out the part of the song “the hero the princess hand in hand” has alot more meaning considering it’s strongly implied that link and Zelda lived with each other they truly did bring the light back to the land hand in hand
MIND BLOWN
This is a perfect example of how Breath of the Wild can be rewarding in a narrative sense and not just in materials. You spend this whole game running into Kass here and there, and you find shrines and rupees and all that, and the payoff is this incredibly moving moment that pays off on all the build-up Kass's appearances here and there have been leading to.
Man, everyone oggles over Sidon, but Kass is by far my favorite character in this game.
kass has always been one of my favorite npcs in the game and this made such a wonderful conclusion to his involvement in the quest.
I was in TEARS when I first experienced this. Still gives me goosebumps, and a little bit of mist in my eyes.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it, this was my first Zelda game but that transition into the main theme of the games was so beautiful that I just started to weep, thank you for being such an amazing game, BotW
Kass is the best rito character in BoTW, hands down.
I like how the buttons on the accordion are scaled up for Rito fingers.
At 2:05 you can see they even animated him pressing the actual buttons.
I love his big ol’ feathery fingers. I bet his feathers are very soft.
I got chills. My hands are sweating. I'm so happy I can't remember words.
Lel, spoilers for memories
probably a stupid theory, or someone might've already said it. but, what if the only reason that Zelda finally used her power because she thought about Link? remember, when the first appearanceof Calamity Ganon in the memories, Mipha was talking about how she uses her power. how the, thinks about something. I just tough, what If Mipha was thinking about Link when she uses her healing power? because she did love him, and she has to think of link while healing him. The memory when she finally uses her power, she saves link from the Guardian. so she has to have been thinking about him (no shit). but I don't know, it might sound stupid.
Ezequiel Perez This is very valid reasoning, and I think the game pretty much confirmed this.
Ezequiel Perez This is not a stupid theory. It's actually very valid and MANY people believe it. I love ZeLink this game.
The song literally says “the princess’s love for her fallen knight awakens her power” so it’s already canon
I love the soft version of the Dragon Roost Island theme. Now I just need a longer version of it.
To think, it’s actually a love square between Link, Zelda, Mipha and Kass’s teacher.
They really did my boy Kass dirty by cutting him out of ToTK!
this moment never failed to make me cry.. even now. Thank you for recording this moment for me to revisit.
Fun Fact:The most character development Link ever receives is in Zelda's Diary!
Kass:"My Teacher would often speak of the princess's beauty. I would love to meet her and craft a song worthy of her"
TOTK: NOPE.
Would've been cool if they gave Kass a voice to sing the songs
Like Isaac Hayes (the voice actor for 'Chef' from South Park)? 'Okay, sit down, young hero, and let me sing you a song about making looooove to a woman!'
Thank you so much for uploading this. :D I already saw a vid that had this song in it, only the player spoke with Kass during the daytime when he was playing with his children, so maybe that's why later on, we got no explanation about Kass' teacher. So I got to see something new in this! :D
Thank you again, and I do hope you end up posting all of Kass' scenes in one full video.
I mean not to interject- but Paya is pretty darn thirsty too.
@Otaku Obsession True dat.
@@otaku3OBSESSION well she did say Zelda and link would be a great couple in her book if u go to her bedroom
Once u finish the heirloom quest I think
I always saw Miphas affection as one sided... it seems they really wanted to build the narrative around Zelda and Link (even just as friends).
am i the only one who completely melts over his voice?
Nintendo: This game isn't any more dark than your average Zelda game
Me: BULL
I _really_ wasn't expecting this to make me cry.
GooooOOODDD! The soundtrack for this game is beautiful
Goosebumps every fking damn time
If video games had a Golden Globe equivalent, Kass would win "best supporting character" for his role in this game :P
*Prince Sidon would like to know your location*
I like how Kass always knew that Link was, well Link, the minute he saw the sheikah slate.
He just doesn’t tell you that he knows until he’s relaying the final desires of his teacher.
im going to flip if they play zelda's lullaby in this game
Kajan Nathan - then fasten your seatbelts :)
Kajan Nathan There is a certain track that sped up is Zelda's Lullaby. No joke.
Kajan Nathan oh you just fucking wait, then. You're in for a treat.
Kajan Nathan You can hear a bit of Zelda's Lullaby when you reach the Royal Library in Hyrule Castle.
Its played multiple times during flashbacks, riding your horse during the day, after beating Ganon and in a scene after that.
The game one is true, in breath of the wild the name isn’t mentioned until someone named kass is singing and the songs last lyrics are “for the hero, shall breathe the breath of the wild” it sent chills down my spine
when the song transitions into the main theme... why am i crying in the club rn
Chris I really hope they do this with the DLC later this year!
Kass is a hero in his own right. A comforting bard on a hard journey, a welcome sight and sound even in the middle of nowhere, a helpful companion to reveal the secrets of uncharted areas and a proud father to his bright, young children.
“Oh so that’s the songs lyrics”
*the music shifts to the main theme
*spine shivers intensely
The video I used to watch back then has now become a video I come back every now and then for nostalgia purposes. Sigh… how time passes.
*AGE OF CALAMITY SPOILERS*
The lyrics really are true, Zelda’s love really is the key to her powers. I’m really happy they kept to that idea
Only when her romantic love for link was threatened did her powers awaken and too note it is literally across timelines this is how strong her love for link is.
god bless you for doing this and posting it up
OKAY BUT CAN SOMEONE DO A ANIMATION LIKE A TERRIBLE FATE BUT LIKE SHOWING LINK AND ZELDA AFTER BOTW LIKE FIXING HYRULE AND BEING CUTE AND SHIT BC I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE
Yeah...not likely to happen(A Terrible fate happened due the massive cult status MM has achieved, as animating is HAAARD and takes forever to do)
Thats part of the alternate ending and the DLC story is likely going to be about that
+TheFabulousKitten
I've not seen any evidence yet that suggests the likelihood of it. Sure, we all hope that's the case. But realistically speaking, it could be anything.
Emily Robinson o jeez calm down fam we not ready 4 dat
This song always gives me goosebumps, even after the first few times hearing it... There's so much behind it too... I can feel the meaning behind the words, even if I don't understand it fully.
love how kass's hair resembles one wing of the legend of zelda logo
after hearing his final song, I went and fought ganon straight away.
I hope that kass gets to meet Zelda in the sequel
YES I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
It's the goddamn theme song! The nostalgia bomb has been detonated!
3:00 I love how the games like "yeah, were not gonna let you be a dick here."
I’m playing totk and I miss kass :(
Kass is a very likeable character in my opinion.
Gahhhh i love the rito village so much cause the dragon roost island theme.
One of the most beautiful moments in a Game I have ever seen, the music is perfect and kass is such a good character, I hope he has a larger role in BOTW2
This is so good.... this game is so good 😭😭😭😭
Kass playing the main theme of the Accordion was truly a beautiful moment
I think my heart broke a bit for some reason
I remember at first I was annoyed when I was exploring and heard the accordion in the background. As i started doing the quests Kass definitely grew on me and this just sealed him as one of my favorite characters.
I like how it's indirectly revealed that he immediately knew who Link was the first time he saw him but just kept playing it off.
I wish there was cutscene where kass actually sang the song with a voice actor.
for those who say link doesnt love zelda in the japansese translation he says he has to save zelda quickly cause he wants to see zeldas smile once more
There's that romantic spark.
