Paul Keating's finest hour in my opinion was the Mabo legislation. I remember when he went on national television in a prime time television address to explain to the Australian people why the legal fiction of "terra nullius" (ie: that there was no native ownership of Australian land up until that point) could no longer be accepted in a modern progressive democratic country like Australia. It was a proud moment in Australian history and he will go down as one of the greatest PMs in Australia's history because of that.

The international community is crying out for politicians of Keating's calibre.....how power works & when to utilise it made him a unique PM.

I think Keating has been under rated but I'm a fan :-) Can you imagine Scomo mentioning Social Justice in our Parliament today? Now that would be a true miracle!

Now that's inspiring legislation. Fast forward to 2016, the nation waits with baited breath for the return of a pinnacle policy of our age of innovation... ABCC. Yes, Malcolm will go down as a lame duck, but maybe its not his fault, maybe that's all his party is. Rampant patriotism looses its zeal when the golden shower dries up.

Johnny Howard must've been fuming over Mabo as his proposed One Australia policy was completely opposite of this

Will you got to show us all he's racist bigotry when he got up on the midday show after he became prime minister a few years later and the High Court addressed the final remaining part of native title which is how it was to be treated if it still existed on leasehold land he got up with a picture and said that the Aboriginals were going to take over 75% of the nation which is complete and utter bulshit just more of that fear spreading hate pedaling racist pandering bigoted nonsense
