Very good video. I have one query if url is added in custom category and also same url is added in url retaining parent category. Then how zscaler will scan on what basis?
This will depend on policy order. Policy is top down, first match. So if the URL is in two categories (cat1 and cat2) and rule 1 blocks cat1 and rule 2 allows cat 2 - the user would be blocked because rule1 triggers first.
@@welshgeek1 Thanks for explaination. I have one small confusion regarding url retain parent category. There is one url under blocked parent category. Scenario 1: I have called url in custom allowed url category1. Zscaler Action:It will be allowed access in this case along with all sub domains. Scenario 2: when I add same url in url retain parent category in same category1 rule by removing from custom category and add into url retain parent category. Then how zscaler will proceed? Will it allow as I called under category1 or it will be block as parent category is blocked? In both scenario rule is at the top only.
Let me give a specific example www.theregister.co.uk is categorised as "news and media" If Rule 1 has "News and Media" allowed, and rule 2 has "Custom" denied, then here is what'll happen If Custom has "www.theregister.co.uk" as a "Custom URLs" then the site is taken out of "News and Media" and put into the "Custom" category. The request to www.theregister.co.uk would be denied If Custom has "www.theregister.co.uk" as a "Custom URLs retaining parent category" then the site is NOT taken out of "News and Media" and is actually in both categorise. The request to www.theregister.co.uk would be allowed. Swapping rule order, so rule 2 is higher than rule 1, then the request would be denied. The different categories for URL's are explained in more detail here help.zscaler.com/zia/adding-custom-url-categories
when you appear for zscaler position for interview i guarrente you can never passed it , because they asking something not related to real world scenario's. i am so worried i appear 3 times with different company i did certification as well but still i fail again n again, have ever anyone pass interview can help me what the question they asked how to ourcome on things please can anyone help
I can’t comment on the interview process, and since I don’t know the position you’ve applied for I can’t give much advice. Generally there is the things you learn (training) and the implementation (working knowledge) plus the think outside the box (what would you do if….? Or how would you troubleshoot…?). I would expect the hiring manager or recruiter to give you feedback on why you were unable to pass the interview at this stage. Nonetheless - good luck for the future. I do hope some of these videos help you and maybe enable you to pass an interview if you decide to re apply.
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
