It was one of their first dev diaries- granted it was a very unfinished system when they showed it off. Looks good, and should hold up pretty well if they stick to the design philosophy they said they wanted.
I am really looking forward to this game. One thing through about the map, and something that really annoys me in every map game of this period. In Canada, Alberta and Saskatchewan were not colonized until the 1880s. And had the British Government not pushed to build the railroad, the area would have been filled with American settlers hungry for land after the Civil War. Had the Americans settled 150 miles north into Saskatchewan, the land connection between Western and Eastern Canada would have been effectively blocked. For some context. The population of Alberta was only 70 thousand in 1901. While North Dakota was 300 thousand.
@@aquilainteractive Uuuu I love it! Will there be choosen by the player? Like you get an election in and then you can chose ministers according to their ideology?
The TH-cam Gods we’re cooking sending me this video. I’m fully invested in this beautiful game, it reminds me of the Civ series and Victoria games in one and I love both games. Merry Christmas to the dev team working on this game! Looks very promising 🙂
It is already looking better than degeneracy that is Victoria 3. Art and portraits are hands down awesome, compared to V3 oblivion level abominations. Just want warfare to be frontline-based, likу HoIIV and I am sure it will surpass Victoria 3 and its incompetent mobile gaming devs in no time.
I recently played Victoria 3 and it's still no fun. It will never be. The problem is that I'm building 30+ buildings all the time. It's monotonous to build non stop. Will your game have this problem? Do I need hundred of buildings?
Not just the horrendous building system of Victoria 3. There is also the system of choosing what the different buildings make/build and meddling with the production methods. The flip-of-a-button click and all of a sudden every prairie farm produces fruits.....? And microing the ship construction..... And, when you invent the car, having to micro-manage between trains and cars. It's not a system of gameplay, it's a chore. 2:01 in this video. This makes me nervous about buying this game. This mechanic alone is probably going to stop me from buying this game. I pretty much exclusively play as the United States. And the idea of pausing my game constantly, to then look over every building across the entire nation to constantly adjust what every single building is doing, sounds like a nightmare. I am getting pretty tired of playing every country as if it has a Soviet Union style economic system.
Our game is intended to have actors other than the players. Capitalists and Aristocrats will invest in buildings on their own based on the goal of maximizing wealth within the rules you created (through policies or local policies). State-owned buildings are meant to be supplementary in general. Of course, that is unless you intend to go with planned economy, where you have to do it all on your own, and in that case, it should be hard and tedious to do.
It is not just a click of a button. In fact, every factory runs on a weekly cycle, so once you make the change, it will try to acquire new materials for the new production formula starting from the next one. While you can intervene in the production (depending on your policies), the owners will switch formulas to maximize profit on their own without your input. Therefore, in your example, once the car is invented, factories will switch production on their own if the profitability makes sense. In our vision, while there are a lot of knobs and switches with all the controls available to you, constant direct control is not required or even desired.
I disagree. There is too simply too much going on. if we start in 1700 during the War of the Spanish Succession with the player playing Britain, you would push France over the edge, ending in a balkanized state. And so with this, there won't be a Napoleon, no dismantling of the Holy Roman Empire, and no German Empire. The problem with Europa Universalis 4 and Crusader Kings 2 and 3, is that the timeframe is simply too long. After 200 years the entire simulation breaks. And as such, nobody ever plays to the end date in either game series. Had EU4 been made into 2-3 games, it would have been amazing. Focusing down on specific things, then the game would have been fantastic. The same thing is true for CK2 and 3. A century of focus works much better in these sorts of games. Going beyond only breaks the simulation. This is why the Victoria franchise is so longed after. You get 100 years of a specific era which saw specific things, and we get to play around in that space. Even going beyond single extra generation would break the entire feeling. By adding nuclear weapons and satellites. And if you go back generation before 1822, you find yourself within the Napoleonic Wars. Which could completely alter the very foundation of what we recognize from and as the Victorian Era. But if you keep it Post-Napoleon and Pre-WW2, you get a tight frame to set up fantastic gameplay features that fit for the era. ---------- On another note. Seeing how easy this game is going to be to modify, it should be easy to make an extended start date mod of some sort.
Yes! We designed the game to be modded right from the start. It will come with an editor allowing you to edit virtually all the content within from the map itself to events.
Merry Christmas Aquila Interactive. Have a well-deserved rest.
wondering how the combat system will turn out
Can't be any worse than 'the other one'.

Comment for the algorithm. Cant wait to see y'alls *destiny* !

This is looking amazing so far!
I cannot wait to play. I haven’t felt this excited for a game for about 9 years or so now.
I just stumble across this game and already it’s becoming one of my most anticipated games. Awesome work!
I saw a finance minister. Does that mean we will have a cabinet?
Yes!

Hey man, looks awesome! You should put the link to the game in the description so people can easily wishlist it! :)
As a strategy fan, I'm looking forward to your game, don't abandon this project, it looks amazing
Hoping so much that it will be early access soon😇😇
This looks amazing. Why am i only hearing about this now?!

This looks better than Vic3! Good job!

Tiene una pinta espectacular, lo que esperaba de vic3, pero ¿se traducirá al español?
I love how this game looks but I do wonder if you will Mac OS support as I would love to be able to play it!
This looks really interesting! I’m curious, what are the start and end dates? How would you say this game compares to Victoria 3?
I hope this game kicks victoria 3's ass
I hope you guys allow console commands
Can you guys like develop faster!
I really cannot wait to play it😆

No. There is more depth and it's not an idle/cookie clicker game like Vic3.

@@aquilainteractive Thank you for the reply! And thank you for the clarification!
I wish the developer add the time span from 1700s-1900s

The game is pausable real time. 😊
