Been a fan of Rogan for 10+ years. I've listened to all of his commentary. The cold hard truth is that his work has declined. Everything from his stand-up, podcasts, and even commentary have taken a hit. The biggest thing with the commentary is he's a bit "trigger happy". He gets very excited in certain situations of the fight that never really amount to anything. He's too eager to make the call rather than just letting the fight come to him naturally. He also gets WAY more technical compared to his old commentary. He will repeat the same thing 5 times when he's explaining a grappling position. Your average fan isn't looking for a jiu jitsu lesson when watching the fight on a Saturday night with friends. Of course explaining things to your audience is necessary, but Joe overdoes it. I don't think they want a talking head. They were probably just providing some simple feedback and his ego couldn't take it.
