Recently, I had the great fortune to meet Mr Kore-eda and listen to him talk for a few hours about his films and how he makes them, which drew me back to his recent work.
Monster is the kind of film that will surprise you with how powerfully it hits your heart and its deft touch in dealing with hard moments and how our aversion to grief and guilt hurts us deeper than we ever thought. A sublime film.
