it's such a beautiful and an emotional song, they said that V dedicated this song for his grandmother who passed away.
Not true, Tae has said he's inspired by a movie called About Time, esp the proposal scene in the movie. "Looks like a winter bear, you sleep so happily." In the movie, the male lead proposed to the girl while she was sleeping. It's a romantic song and not about his grandma.

@@nocturnaln when u get inspired by something it doesnt necessarily mean all of its meaning is about it. If you listen carefully to the lyrics, theres that deep longing behind it that a romantic song doesnt have.

V (Tae) explained this song on Jimin's Vlive chat .. as the guys were traveling he was watching a movie about a guy who wanted to travel back & redo his steps ... he watched young lady he loved as she slept wanting to propose to her ... as V watched the movie it made him think of ARMY & his not wanting to let go...that he wants life to continue with his fans...
winter bear is an endearment to fans... stems from his parents nickname for him...dad called him "baby bear" & mom called him "honey bear" then he was born in winter .. so he gives us the name "winter bear" (his bear).
The song is an invite to fans to go on a trip down memory lane with him & then go to sleep & dream about the sites we saw with him ... it's why the video begins with him seeing sites while on tour & then where it begins rewinding (going backwards) is where we are going back thru those memories with him.
Beautiful thought ... he is just wanting to ensure we want to continue wanting to be with him on his journey.

By the way someone telling you they purple you comes from V.
Kim Taehyung aka V, explained in one of their concerts, he said that purple is the last color of the rainbow, so it means “I will trust and love you for a long time”. and from then on Taehyung says, "I purple you", whenever he deems it necessary & ARMY took up the saying. It was trademarked by BigHit Entertainment. Plus it is designated in urban dictionary with V & ARMY.
So when fan said those words to you guys it was showing respect & acceptance for your words spoken.

V or Taehyung gave the word Purple another meaning that is an expression of showing love/trust/support to others because in rainbow, the purple is the last color and is supporting all the colors on top of it. So ARMYs use purple to show their love for BTS and BTS use purple to show their love for ARMYs.

He wants to see it again, “wishes it would fly to me”! He wants a good day! He was in Manila when his grandma died, and I am sure he would love to spend another day with her. She is extinct to him as the blue parrot is to Korea. Gone. Nuanced. He was devastated when she died. He told the audience where they were performing that she had died. All he wanted to do is tell her he loved her on TV when they won Music Bank! Not a dry eye on stage or in the house. He was so young....a baby still. His grandmother raised him for 14 years as he could not live on the farm, due to a skin condition. He was a Big Hit by 17.

‘I purple you’ is a symbol or phrase created by V 1,010 days ago or 3 years ago. Army celebrated i purple you’s 1,000th day which is the same day Winter Bear song was released. It might V’s reason for releasing that song as well. Anyway, His explanation is: ‘Purple’ is the last color in the rainbow. It means i will love and trust you for a long time. Actually the movie and proposal have nothing to do with this song. It was written for his gramma and ended his 3yr. mourning period for her. She’s the winter bear and he’s telling her to sleep peacefully now.

Yeah, at a concert he explained to the audience why he'd been down lately...that his grandmother who raised him had recently passed away. He got the news while he was away in the Philippines so it was really hard for him. He cried on stage and had everyone in tears. 😭
