You guys say what I think. I finally found my people. I've always felt alone, because no one thinks like me. I would get made fun of, or people would tell me to stop, that not everything is a business or needs to be improved. I'm glad I finally found my people. I'm 52 years old and now I realized the world is finally catching up to my thoughts. I was doing drop shipping and selling online in 1994.
This broke my brain. Quite literally, the biggest problem any "idea guy or gal" has ever faced. I've loved computers and software since Apple II days, but never fell in love with the idea of spending years on coding a solution. This changes everything.
Pure gold. This guy is choosing the long game over the quick game..the former giving power to the people instead of the status quo bros. And he knows it will bank in the long run. As well as bring many many great projects forward. How very inspiring and yes I’m in total agreement- make the choice that writes the best story.
Replit is not even a top 3 genAI IDE. Look at the support for this episode in the comments…all from non-technical folks I’m sure. These two guys are selling a dream, the people who come on this show are motivated to sell you a product they are associated with or will benefit from hype. Lowest common denominator here folks, don’t fall for these non-technical charlatans’ sales pitch.
One of the best interviews ever on MFM! What a story, what a journey, such an inspiration! Can already see Walter Isaacson blocking time for this and a movie on the books - How Replit made tech available to the masses! 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
As much as I like Replit, the reality is that the space is so saturated and there is so little brand loyalty at the moment, that it is inevitable that an alternative product appears that is cheaper, faster and better. I hope that he is able to take some money off of the table before it goes to $0.
I agree, the irony is it shouldn't be difficult to replicate Replit. My friend just tried it and it still has a ton of logic issues. Not really sure who has shipped a decent product with millions of users yet
Amjad is an inspiration. Despite being in Silicon Valley, it took him 10 years to make his product a success. This reflects the systemic bias that exists not only in Silicon Valley but across industries in various countries.
Okay you have the app from replit. But what about the branding and ux/ui design? Do you get to customize that? Also, I assume you still gotta build a beautiful website for the app.
as we speak am building sites with replit, just need to know how to work with it. don't think your just gonna press a button and done like some videos on youtube. don't give up keep pushing oh yeah for $25 you get a dev in your browser come on!
Thats pretty cool, you're further along the line from me ive just begun refining my pitch deck. Currently trying to find a co-founder, any tips in raising cap and finding people?
@greencoolmoss There are 100s of ways for each. Energy and time is your constraint. Capital should naturally come - you chase the VC, you lose both VC and customer. Just focus on the customer, growth and revenue. Rest of the things are like scaffolding for you to grow. VCs will come when you have revenue. For co-founder, the best person is with a complimentary skillset with equal passion. Find from your past working relationships or through YC co-founder dating
The polyphasic sleep schedule is the most interesting piece of this video IMO. I wonder how healthy it is. I'm an 8 hour a day guy and unfortunately my 13 year-old dog is set in her ways to get up and walk at 4-5 a.m. in the morning so I generally try to get to sleep between 8-9 p.m. I heard that sleep cycles are generally 1 1/2 hours each so going to sleep for 30 minutes at a time doesn't fit that research. I heard that going back to sleep for 15-30 minutes after hitting an alarm, for example, might often result in feeling more tired than in you go to sleep for an entire sleep cycle of 1 1/2 hours.
It’s crazy how many things we’re taught about money that just aren’t true. Why isn’t anyone talking about the book The Architect of Riches by Alexander Pierce? It really opens your eyes to a whole new way of thinking about wealth. A lot of successful people swear by it!
I don't know, the guy comes across as a bullsh!tter with his stories. How many "Deans' of computer science interviewed him after his hacking was discovered? There is only one Dean in a faculty. How can he not know that? It makes many of his other claims questionable.

My first project on Replit will be a plugin for TH-cam that removes 'like' and 'you know' from Silicon Valley- centric videos.
😭😭😭😭
I would invest in that !
:D
😂
Billion dollar idea right there 😂
Why so negative
Hands down one of the most revolutionary podcasts I’ve heard all year - thank you!
Spot on with the conundrum of challenges Shaan! Literally started working with Replit a few weeks ago. Thanks for bringing Amjad to the pod!

wich are the top 3 then?
What top 3 genAI IDE have you created?
The incumbents are gonna dominate this space. But it’s nice to see someone else carving out a piece for himself.
Pick a different IDE, the podcast still applies.
Excellent video and watching this a second time already.
The intro / preview is fire 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
Needed this one fellas. Thanks!
Amjad is a genius! This episode was pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Best Episode!
Another banger pod from Sam “can I ask a blunt, rude question” Parr and Shaan “don’t harsh my mellow” Puri 😂👍✌️
One of the best interviews ever on MFM! What a story, what a journey, such an inspiration! Can already see Walter Isaacson blocking time for this and a movie on the books - How Replit made tech available to the masses! 🔥 🔥🔥🔥

Great conversation, people will come back and view this in the future.
Great stories and anecdotes.
Great Pod! Dharmesh is still number 1 in my book though 😊
Best pod ep this year I think!!

Amjad is killing it. Great episode guys.
I like that he criticises YC for selecting people based on unearned status rather than fairness!
The pod has been on a generational run as of late 🔥
Great podcast!!
How to maintain the app when its bugged or hacked?
Banger pod guys

what’s your data source that will show us this space is so saturated?
Amjad is an inspiration. Despite being in Silicon Valley, it took him 10 years to make his product a success. This reflects the systemic bias that exists not only in Silicon Valley but across industries in various countries.
The fact that nobody talks about the book whispers of manifestation on borlest speaks volumes about how people are stuck in a trance

Great episode.🎉
Main idea for me, consistency is key..
honestly gr8 episode
Why is Sam looking like a judge today? 😂
now code is the distribution, future is where every one is sending softwares to each other.
Fellas, let the guy tell his stories! *cuts him off* "oh and I bet this happened next didn't it?"
I am a White Hat, and I liked your story about how you work for free to repair that database.
How does Shaan Puri get investment access to all those startups like replit, like jasper etc.?
So is this software just for building apps or can you use to build a template for directories on a website???? Thank you ❤great info
Amjad is a legend
I interviewed for 11x. I didn't want to miss the opportunity and be on a scarcity mindset, so I created this product and in the process of raising 2M

The subreddit for replit really dislikes their unannounced pricing changes. Sad to see it
Learning the Python language is the easy part.
"Sam Altman is very effective." Great observation

Complete BS! Not even going to waste time to watch this. As a developer I can tell you this is just a sales pitch nothing more.
Don’t fall for it guys
