I also was recently diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia although its taken three long years to get a positive diagnosis and I'm actually glad because I can at last accept and plan the future while I can . I've never met anyone with it which would make me feel better to be with someone else who has it but what I really wanted to say is that you both gave me the wonderful feeling , hey 👋 I'm not alone , thank you both . I will add that I have the same symptoms of apathy and frustration and anger and memory and speech are now ever present . Thank you so much and I love you both . Keep going . Don't dwell on what may come . I don't.

I’m in Kansas and it took two years for my husband two years to get his disability and he got his back amount.

My mother has dementia. I can't bare it. They did not tell us what kind though the only thing they did to her was a brain scan I mean a CAT scan and ask her about three questions I don't know

kim keel, I’m so sorry! This is very tough. My heart goes out to you! A neuropsychologist tests for a formal dementia diagnosis and would determine type of dementia by the symptoms she is having. Scott’s symptoms all lead to the dementia being in the frontal and the temporal areas of the brain.
