    Changes from industrialization
    - Prior to industrialization, Americans made things either to use themselves or to be sold locally or at most regionally
    - During this period, Americans began mass-producing goods to be sold all over the world
    Technology
    - Railroad gave quick and easy transport of goods long distance
    ○ Opened up mass production and consumption
    ○ Government aided railroads with money and land
    ○ Four transcontinental railroads were built along with the first one
    ○ East and West were accessible which created a national market
    - Steel production
    ○ Henry Bessemer patented process of making stronger steel
    ○ This new method enabled manufactures to create more and have better quality
    - Coal
    - Oil
    - Telegraph wires multiplied and connected different regions
    - Created wire between Europe and American which created new market
    - Telephone - Alexander Bell

Hey Thank you so much Mr.Hiemler, My history teacher made us watch your videos and my mindset going in to it was "oh other one of these channels "But as I watch your videos i get more and more into it, you bring something that not a lot of people bring to history, enthusiasm. It is so refreshing to hear someone talk as enthusiastically as you do about history. In my observations when people talk or give lessons on history they don't seem to be really enthused about teaching it but you are and that's great! Its so refreshing to see someone that you know really loves history and teaching about it. You got me more exited about history and for that i say thank you and i cant wait to see your next video.

This was helpful, thank you, but one small nit picky detail: Samuel Morse didn't actually invent the telegraph, he just found a practical use for it.
