I must admit that I was sceptical at first, but the two of you blew me away! Thank you both for uploading, it's reminded me that I have a cello that I haven't touched in three years.
Excellent! Beautifully done! I've seen some comments about the speed, or difference in sound, but one thing people need to realize is that the music for the movie was played on electric, or electric acoustic, violins and the sound we got in the movie has some of that electronic effect in it. It was also recorded in a sound studio, undoubtedly covered on the inside with acoustic materials to block outside, and boost inside, sounds. Another thing also is that the mic's they're using in that sound stage are sensitive high dollar one's. Also the Gypsy girl in the movie was playing a Viola. The sheet music has Lestat on Violin, the Gypsy girl on Viola, and her father doing Guitar and a percussion line on the body of the guitar, that can be done better on a separate drumset. Finally, it was most likely faster in the movie to allow for time constraints. In production, when you're aiming for a specific movie length, you can only spend so much time on scenes that are lower priority, or aren't absolutely vital to the story, otherwise the movie would be two or three hours long. What these lovely ladies are playing is natural, acoustic only, (even though the lady on the left has an acoustic electric violin, but isn't plugged up to an amp, that I can tell,) and what they're playing is more relaxed. I adore it. They played it beautifully.
Its not perfect bc u get amaized by the music.. im a perfectionist and its not perfect but i must say its very very good! Could be longer i love that part😎😎😎
Wonderful, Jenny! And they said you were too old to learn violin at 17, was it? Just great. Wish I, at 75, had the courage to start. All the best, Robert
My mother had the movie and a CD with the soundtrack. When I was little I used to put the soundtrack and this was my favorite song. I didn't watch the movie then because I was afraid I would upset my mother (I saw people shirtless and thought "maybe I shouldn't be watching this"), but then she asked me "did you like it?". Didn't understand a thing. But now, 15 years later, I've fallen in love with Lestat and the soundtrack. I'm waiting to get back home (I go to uni so I live a bit far) and finally watch it with my mother
I only recently found Jennifer O'Connor aka the Hot Violinist. I found her videos when I was listening to the violin music for Queen of the damned. I saw others attempt to imitate the music but her version is the best.
Sounds off.... Granted I can't play the violin but by ear it sounds like yall went off tempo a few times and even that specific notes are wrong. Maybe perhaps its just that I've heard that song a million times since it use to be one of my favorite movies, and its weird hearing it being played in a different way.
Yeah it's different. They changed a couple things and the movie version has a couple more instruments and drums involved also. This is still a very good version of the melody though, I wish it was longer.
***** I do not play anything, and can't read any notes. But i can hear, and it sounds just like you said it. It is a bit off, only because they play it a bit different. Otherwise they hit it! Don't they. The most important part for me, at least, as listener it that high pitched part just before end, and they nailed it. Start is a bit off, though, but as if they played it wrong, just different :)
EVERY.TIME I LISTEN TO A VIOLIN TUNE LADIES I THINK OF THIS GREAT DUO.. THEN HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS ART.. MINIMUM 10 TIMES..THANKYOU FROM ALL PARTS OF MY HEART!!
Thank you for these wonderful instructional videos. I took violin lessons about 5 years about for about 2 years, but I have forgot a good deal. These videos have helped me get back into the saddle so to speak. So thank you very much.
THAT WAS SOOOOOOOO HOTT!!!!! I love that part in the movie but to hear and see it done, NOT on the set of a movie just made it like a 100 times better!!!!
Most friends are usually shocked when i tell them THIS is my favorite song from that movie. And this was a fantastic rendition.
A masterpiece!!
Who's here in 2021! Still love this song and this movie! 🖤 🎻
Yes.
Here in 2022 😌

I must admit that I was sceptical at first, but the two of you blew me away! Thank you both for uploading, it's reminded me that I have a cello that I haven't touched in three years.
Would learn violin just to be able to play this song, so beautiful! Queen of the damned is such a great movie!!
Actually, speed it up to x1.25 if you want it to be in perfect cadence to the actual movie performance.
He is right better at 1.25
@Paul Goodier he is right, sounds better
NXS Productions but just keep it the way it is an it may be perfect
Paul Goodier definitely sounds better at 1.25x
Whatever you do don't play it at 0.25x
THE WAY MY HEART IS CHEESIN RIGHT NOW. This made me So Proud 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽‼️
Aw thank you, what a comment!
2024 and still love this two

Вы пробудили во мне желание ещё раз пересмотреть этот замечательный фильм. Молодцы, девушки!
Is it weird that I've been watching this like twice a week for years...?
TheSongBirdRainStar no
Not really I watch all her stuff repeatedly. Jenny rules. So does Kelly.

2024 Reporting in!
Randomly came across this, and wow...rekindling my love with violin... though I can't play. But maybe a goal? hmmm. You ladies are amazing!
speed it up to 1.5 :)
Faster is not always better.
Spoken like a true Thrash-hater...
Good call. Sounds a lot closer to how it is shot for the film ~
1.25 is better in my opinion, not too fast.
great !
Fantastic. Simply lovely, and incredibly flawless.
Essa música foi tocada maravilhosamente bem!
Watched til the end, absolutely awesome!!! 👌
Have you published this? I want a download!
00:06-00:53 so much talent for something that sounds so simple...YALL killed it

Two great symphony you guys should be congratulated ... very beautiful and you guys
Beautiful Gypsy music, played by two beautiful Gypsy women. More please?
+Anna Faelivrin Lol Anna
I am from Bulgaria, Eastern Europe - I know a gypsy when I see one :D
I guess he did not mean the persons but the music. There is a genre that is called gypsy violin.
Bravo...!
I also speeded up the tempo and it sound the Same as Lestat on the Beach
A tad slow, but not bad at all...
+Xogroroth666 1.25 speed
+Andrei Jean I wonder why no one turns this into a full 3 minute tune?
Would be awesome, imho...
She's not a vampire dude..........jeez :::grin::
McTee: who was that at?
Xogroroth666 You, I was obviously referring to the beach scene, Lestat plays the fiddle supersonic, or maybe....rather fast
Best piece o music in the whole film. Beautifully done by the duo~can understand the melodies/ notes better than in the movie.
my name is Lestat and i love you.
miss Venice and the front walk...so much! As for Jennie O'Connor, playing, hope a Faire will be in my future. Miss them too. My first one was in 1963!
beautiful, but way too slow.
Hey google+, hows about stop sharing my youtube comments? What does that have to do with you? Fuckers.
Because they own TH-cam...
They think they own YOU too. Pretty soon you'll have to login to either Google or Facebook just to flush your toilet.

Agreed 👍
I do read music, play 5 instruments, and even sound design & compose for movies/shortfilms which is my major.
As a violinist i was also backed away the way it sounded but if you read the sheet of this piece you will see that there are drums involved.

Wow...hands down AWESOME, and not because you two ladies are beautiful but because that was a well reproduced play of the song.
This sounds like Indian music
Like it really does
I'm Indian so like I would know...
🤓😊
yes it's Caranatic (Raga) Music originally played by L. Shankar for the movie
