    Hey Cole. This is among my favorites of your tutorial videos. It has inspired me to find an equivalent to scatting for my painting students. You continue to inspire me. (Hey, folks. I'm Cole's aunt! How cool is that!)

    Yeah I’ve been rapping fast for 12 years using patterns. I’ve always tried to make the next one better then the last. when it’s time to slow down though it gets tricky because I’ve been rapping fast for so long. I’ve always done pencil tapping to come up with patterns kinda like scatting in way

  • @ryantaylor793

    Thank you. I finally understand how to make a unique flow. It was hard to think on how to combine flows and like you said learning to transition from cadence to cadence is somewhat tricky when you first start thinkin about it. But that scatting tip is what made the lightbulb go off in my head! The more flows you know and the more you experiment with transitioning from flow to flow it gets easier. You start to realize what flows sound better with others. And like Cole was sayin. The more flows you know, the more diverse you will be. Which means you will have an easier time finding a unique flow that no one else has ever made. I finally understand and I thank you very very much! I must scat everyday from now on. I've been sitting here in my house for one whole year trying to figure out how to make a unique flow. Like I knew to combine flows but I didnt know any tips to help so thank you very much.

    I’ve said this before on one of your videos but I’ve never wrote a song or anything like that but i scat everyday for about the past two years. Do it in the car driving to work and listen to many different beats on TH-cam. I’m now just starting to put scatting into freestyle and all on my own. I still don’t like doing it around friends or even my wife. Rap for the past two years have been a love hate relationship lol. Wanting to be “okay” as far as getting different flows down. Someday I’ll try and write something.
    Thanks Cole the great videos! You helped make this hobby of mine and it’s a true challenge.

    I am not sure if you’re gonna see this but scatting is difficult for me, I pray in tongues which like how you described scatting “is not pre meditated” so unless I can learn to flow with praying in the Holy Spirit I don’t know if I will ever be able to come up with a cadence that way... cause every time I try speaking gibberish (like scatting) it goes into praying in tongues... I know this is an unusual problem, God bless you Cole, thanks for your service and help!

    Could you make a video about how to stay motivated :(

  • @ComradeReptiloid
    @ComradeReptiloid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah, some mainstream and a lot of underground artists have the same flow on every track and call it *style.* Also, those ghostwriters need to step up their game, cause cadence on those charting songs are really trash and they call it _simple and catchy._
    It will be funny if you can do video on YT rappers cadence, cause they have the same set of memorized cadences they do on every song. Not all of them ofc, but the most do and believe they are good.
    EDIT: check Debo and King Los on Art of the Flow track

      @Brrrrbrrrr11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luvoxy because it’s not original , you can use the flow but don’t use the same lyrics , people will call u a copy cat if your doing it on purpose but if you do it to pay respect to the artist then it’s okay to an extent, but don’t think it’s okay to do it for all your songs, u should want to make your own lyrics anyways, based off your own experiences not other peoples .
