    You posted about this on a moped page I follow and I figured id look you up... Its cool to see someones journey into the moped scene!... good vid man! Ride safe my friend! and remember, the best part about having a bunch of mopeds is letting your friends ride them! (then they will fall in love with mopeds and eventually you'll have a moped club!)

    Your story about getting into mopeds, reminds a lot of my story. I bought a Puch Maxi 5 years ago, and now I have 5 running mopeds and 3 projects on the shelf. This video is the first I have watched on your channel. I´m looking forward to more good content. Thank you. 😊

      That's a pretty impressive collection you have.
      At one point when I was a kid we had our entire garage filled with some really nice mopeds. Of course it was around 1980/81 when my dad's business caused the loss of the business they owned. (Sportmag 2)

      Awesome! I'll be getting the blue one going this spring once it warms up enough to be in the garage to work on it. I really love these Moby's!

    I’m beyond mind blown you got these in Colorado, it’s so rare to even see one in this state. I just drove 1,200 miles to Kansas City to pick up a 1978 Sears Free Spirit.

      They’re awesome! Only thing is they can be a PIA when they break! Mine isn’t broken but I am soooo nervous that it’ll break down. I gotta rely on it until I have my full drivers license and can drive, lol. Even then. She runs like a champ but I’m still spooked by the horror stories lol.

    Nice collection Derek. I started my moped collection this summer. Picked up my first Garelli 76 and love it. Detroit Motors is a good place to buy parts . Do you have a dealer/parts supplier you go to? I live in Canada. Nice channel...

      Thanks! I don't have a local place, I've been using Treatland and Ebay for parts. I'll check out Detroit Motors too.

    Great videos!! I’m about to start restoring a Motobecane Cady as well. Mine has the M1 motor. I can’t tell if yours is the same? I am having trouble finding engine parts for the M1. Seems to be an odd ball engine for North American markets. Where have you been getting parts from?

    • @derekdoeschannel
      @derekdoeschannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks! I get most of my parts from Treatland.com. I have the AV7 in mine but I'm sure if anyone has them, they do for the Cady.

    Yeah grew up in Key West Florida one of the only places they ship derbi mopeds we couldn't afford one then now 40 years later I'm looking for a 1977 to 1972 Derby Laguna the silver one it looks like a miniature Yamaha rd350 same style everything also have a mint condition rd350 Yamaha first year they made them 1973 got it from a one owner a couple hours away he bought it brand new in 1973 and left-sided registered in 1978 5800 miles on the speedometer my friend already redid it but the chamber pipes and everything on their butt still mainly looking for a Laguna sport only silver they came from the factory except for the Diablo I have two of those once fixing to get redone got all the brand new parts and the other one I've been driving since 1986 when I bought it for 175 bucks I have all brand new parts for the DERBI Laguna from the gas tank number plates head gaskets everything sprockets and have a mofast brand chamber pipe but they change the one and a half horsepower in 1984 and 1985 you have to put a bore kit on there that you want to ride by yourself, got a Big Bore Kit ordered but can't use the ones for the old 2 Hp cuz the 84 model and 85 model Diablo has a horsepower and a half and stinking Reed valves that didn't give it any extra power but have the Bore Kit coming also looking for that

    I have a good story you can do a video on. My dad was part owner (not the main CEO) But I can tell a pretty messed up story to the fall of Sportmag 2 in Placentia California.
    Of course you can research for fact check afterwards..before you make the video for your channel.
