HI. I am Italian. This film is a masterpiece! Ennio Morricone's music was so important that many scenes were shot to the music and not the other way around. The scene of Jill getting off the train was shot after the music. It's practically choreography. Sergio Leone and Morricone were and will always be the greatest!!!

check out 12yo patricia janeckova's rendition of this as she sings it to win 'talentmania' in slovakia in 2010! she also performed 'ecstasy of gold' a few years later! both versions can be found on you tube!
patricia was destined to become one of the world's greatest sopranos but she died last year on october 1st from breast cancer aged 25!!

I love this song, more than any other song.
I especially love the vocals by Edda del Orso. She doesn't sing a word, but it is wonderful to behold.

Edda Dell’Orso was an amazing singer, Ennio Morricone was the greatest composer of his day and Sergio Leone was the greatest director. Once Upon a Time in the West was their ultimate masterpiece.

The movie was the amazing epic Once Upon a Time in the West, directed by Sergio Leone, this being his only spaghetti western actually filmed on location in the United States, with beautiful music by Ennio Morricone, and starring Hollywood greats Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda and Jason Robards Junior, with cameo appearances by western movie legends Jack Elam and Woody Strode. The beautiful young lady was Claudia Cardinale. This in my view is one of the greatest westerns ever made, and one of the best movies ever! It is quite simply a masterpiece of cinema. Morricone's score is magnificent and remains today one of the greatest, and will never be surpassed.
I highly recommend that you react to the remarkable opening credits scene, which broke all the established rules by becoming the longest opening scene ever at that time. It is just stupendous.

Ennio Morricone was a genius, an excellent music creator capable of giving life to the films he set to music. Great pride for us Italians. ah...obviously this movie is a masterpiece!💖💖

Ennio Morricone….gave us some absolutely beautiful scores, had planned to take my wife to one of his concerts in Spain, but it didn’t work out. He passed away the next year. His collaboration with Sergio Leone absolutely made the Spaghetti Westerns. The Maestro…a gift to us from God.

Ennio didn't like the term spaghetti westerns lol.. it's a western of a different kind.

I love how Ennio could be dramatic and on an epic scale one moment, and be goofy and tongue in cheek the next. "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" gets most of the love, but "Once Upon a time in the West" is my favorite by Sergio Leone also. Great upload.

The music is like this movie, iconic. Meeting Claudia Cardinale a few years ago was a great memory too.
A recommandation: "On Earth as It Is in Heaven" from the iconic movie The Mission, from the same composer Ennio Morricone

The great Italian Songstress Ms. Edda Del Orso and the late great music composer Ennio Morricone are a match made in Heaven. This "Once Upon A Time IN The West" (1968) was one of the greatest musical scores and the "Best Western" ever made. It shows how the Wild West was coming to an end with the introduction of the train that help connect the east to the west and helped changed the whole demographic forever. This was genius on the part of director and producer Sergio Leone. When director George Lucas first saw this film, he was so inspired by the characters and the story he created his greatest film Star Wars. The rest as they say is history.

The last song on the Duck You Sucker soundtrack, Dopo L'Esplosione, now affects me so deeply that I can't listen to it unless I'm prepared to cry and hurt on the inside and I'm a grown man who doesn't cry easily. It's the tune that plays during John's last flashback of happier days he fondly remembers before he blows himself up. Somehow, my brain decided to connect that beautiful piece of music to my own recollections of happier times in my past like John has (although I haven't also been shot and am not planning to blow myself up with dynamite) and remembrances of people I loved who have passed away (although I didn't blast one of them with a shotgun like John did) and it's powerful. Leone's films are mostly about relationships and nostalgia (and with that nostalgia usually comes revenge motives) set to beautiful music from Ennio Morricone. The plots are secondary although some are real good, and even when one of his films make no sense it doesn't matter at all, because the relationships, the nostalgia, and the music devour your soul.
Interestingly enough, the first time I saw Duck You Sucker I thought the music was a little weird, it took me a few viewings to warm up to it (as opposed to Leone's previous films before that where I loved the music right away). But when I did finally warm up to it, it really moved me, and I consider it right on the top level of Morricone's thousands deep catalogue of musical scores.
