Can you imagine Jared Smith lined up alongside Dylan Stewart? As an opposing O-lineman you would have two choices only: Hold, or see your QB get obliterated. Meanwhile both Flo-Rida and FSU are such train wrecks that teams all over the SEC will be poaching their recruits.
Jared Smith is a very skillful young man! If he was to commit to Gamecocks his recruiting would draw the interest to other DLs. Along with others. He and Stewart would have slot of fun together and would help each other grow by pushing one another. What a handful they would be!
Wasn't the result I wanted. A little sloppy at times and the REFEREES stunk it up. However, a very exciting game between two really good football teams. I would love to see Jared Smith lined uo opposite Dylan Stewart as the best bookends in the nation We have to replace some other really good players on defense going foward. If we don't have people leaving , this offense will be so good next year. Despite Sellers mistakes I can see him evolving into a Lamar Jackson clone. He will make some mistakes and take some lumps but I am so confident in his abilities.
I think for us to get some better receivers and a top recruit at QB we need Dowell Loggains to be more consistent. I’ve been a DLoggains critic but he shows signs of getting better but he always seems to go brain dead in 1 qtr a game. Saturday Dowell Loggains sucked in the 3d qtr. it either he struggles with adjustments made by the opposition or he just doesn’t do well making his own adjustments. He also will never be a successful OC if he had Ashford to run out there. Needs to consider Doty as Sellers backup, that would have e made a huge difference Saturday.
I don't think Doty will see a single snap at QB this season. Ashford is decent as long as he protects the football and Davis Beville is QB3. Luke will have to make his mark at WR.
The refs were awful but we shot ourselves in the foot so many times. Can't do that if we want to control the game. This team has so much potential but they have got to reduce the turnovers and penalties.
Not great. With how many calls they made, you’d figure they wouldn’t have missed so many calls. Hands to the face, holding, late hits all come to mind. Im sure there was more though

Even if you thought the refs got the calls right every time (which I don't), they got the uniform numbers wrong on about 50 percent of their calls which doesn't help the crew's credibility.
So, no, anyone that know SC football knows this was just another "should have" win game but will never happen. SC will, unfortunately, never win jack crap. Wish they would. Just beat their in state overrated rival would be enough to make SC an elite team!!
