What you might be hearing are metal brushes on a his cymbal. He shows the first use of the brushes at 0:06, the first use of a tambourine at 0:30 and the first use of sleigh bells and tambourine at 1:23. The brushes tend to sound metallic like bells or a tambourine would, so I can understand how you would have heard that. ;-) Hope that was helpful. =P

There are at least 3 layers of purcussion jingles and not all are playing the same pattern. What I don't see Jack playing the the initial jingle sound that starts at 0:03 sounds more like sleigh bells.
Jack, everything you create is a masterpiece on it's own, and when I look at your music as a whole, I can't find a word that encompasses your art properly. Suffice to say that I'm very jealous of your talent, and that I wish I could see through the eyes and mind of a musician like you just for one day to see what it's like. everyone speaks about radiohead... of course you can see a lot of influence, but i think that with time and throughout all the different videosongs you can see how there is a unique style to the music (and video, which is a great part of the song)... as well, is nice to see how audiovisual production and postproduction has improved as time has passed since the first videosong... very nice song, that reverb on the vocals take you to another place...
Anyone know any other songs like this,? Something similar to this, but maybe with a more definite ending like that of in Flavors. I really like these songs and I would like to hear more if you know any, thanks :)

Then you can rapidly cut from one shot to another, giving you a similar effect.

i definitely think of that target chord as a B Maj that oscillates with the electric guitar between a Maj7 and a dominant 7. that said, the only melody note that doesn't "fit" is that G, which I think i just hear it as a flat 6 in the melody - the thing is, the flat 6 would suggest that the chord will land on a B minor instead of major, but it doesn't. so i guess i don't know. i think it was just one of those things that sounded good and i didn't think about it too much while writing it.

I'd recommend listening to other songs by Jack conte they all have the same kinda feel to them, my personal favorite is "off with his head"
