are the output shaft oil seals ok?.. looks like a lot of oil that shouldnt be there... im sure you're well on with finding the source... its a good project and great to see something completely new to learn about...cheers buddy.
+springy 2112 Thanks for that. I'm almost completely certain its the output shaft oil seal - I just don't want it to be because it looks like a real PIA and may need some special tools. So I need to decide if I make an attempt or outsource it.
Hope its not too painful buddy ..one of the very few cars ive never worked on I mean 2cv of course not your rare lomax.. i think though the shafts are held in by the bolted plate with 6 ? bolts and the shaft shouldnt need a puller ? ...wish i could assist but you'll overcome it im sure these are the hurdles sent to test us and ultimately improve our mechanical know how... keep picking at it ,I think its a fascinating project and one day will make a stunning little fun machine.
+springy 2112 Removal of the six nuts would allow the output shaft units to removed. However those units then need to be be stripped down and drifted out of the bearing. But reassembly requires torquing up using a chainstrap with a spring balance which would require even more tools. Not that extra tools are ever a bad thing - especially since otherwise I will be paying someone to do it.

Is the Lomax brakes assembly similar of the Ami 6 sedan?
I think there are some differences but really brakes are much the same in all cars. Skäl David
