@@seantowanda8702 I lived in that country for for very long in a professional hunting business, I was detained because I carried a SA passport on my first visit...just for that.. from the border they monitor your activities throughout your stay ...proper surveillance especially SA citizens..now that SAPS alerted the interpol and these guys had claimed they will use the same port of entry on return...instead they headed to Arusha towards Kenyan border .. still being monitored. .that is where they were nabbed...SAPS did nothing more than report fugitives to bordering countries...

Cele says its a catch 22 situation, they didn't want to alert Bester that they were looking for him hence they didnt alert the public, yet they were interrogating all the family members and doing an investigation. Obviously Bester knew he was a wanted man. Way before he left the country.

The response of the police officials does not instill confidence that they are capable to be in the positions that they are in. This police woman says that Nandipha was not yet interviewed by SAPS, what exactly are they doing. If it was not for the Tanzanian police these 2 would have still been on the run.
In fact, Nandipha was the first person to be questioned as she was a regular visitor...
Our police department is a disaster and I am scared 😢

Looking at this, I start to wonder where the SAPS that I worked for went of track? My brother was murdered in police custody 2 years ago, and we as a family had to employ a private investigator to handle the case for us. While we as the family have a million questions the police officials involved received promotions, where transferred, went on pension. The police didn't even inform us that he passed away, we were informed via Whatsapp from a friend of the family that they heard he passed away!!! They had already removed his body by then. When we contacted SAPS their response was, he is fine, they just spoke to him!? We weren't allowed to identify the body, we were, and even our investigator is stonewalled everywhere. IPID declared it a suicide by hanging, how do you hang yourself after all your shoelaces and even the lace in your hoody has been taken from you. If it was a suicide, why do evidence and the docket keep disappearing, why is it necessary to keep changing the detectives on his case. Why are they still after two years, My question is, how can we as the South African public trust SAPS to handle a major case like Thabo Bester, when they can't even investigate the murder of a young man, by police officials while in police custody???

There is only one reason why things went as they went - the SAPS knew very well that they had slipped up and that a lot of people were involved in the escape of Bester. They wanted to find out who were involved and how it could happen before they announced the escape of Bester to the public. They wanted to be able to answer questions, and they were still looking for answers.
But had they alerted the public everyone would be on the lookout for him and assist in his capture.

Bheki Cele has no business being the Police Minister. How are these people appointed into these senior positions? What selection criteria is being used? This is embarrassing to watch. This is an issue of global concern and he’s talking about catch 22 and 4 & 5 which such confidence.
