Wonderful insight about Hugh and his fabulous career as a camera man. True dedication and fearlessness are required to reach the summit of his profession. Loved his recollection of the Puma getting up close and too personal with him.
I have now passed my passion for angling to my grandsons and l love watching them to see them as they love the great outdoors and the thrill of the catch and release of fish 🎣 Thank you for your filmmaking 🎥 it is a work of art and l watch it over and over !
A joy to watch and hear Hugh describe the making of the many wildlife films I grew up watching. May he enjoy his retirement and catch a roach of his dreams.
What a wonderful film, top effort all involved, to the 2 people who have missclicked on the thumb down button, have a long hard look at yourselves and rethink your decision. No-one has fuelled more people into spending time chasing a dream than Hugh and his films.
Hugh is forever woven into the fabric of fishing, and always manages to capture the exact essence of what angling means to us. A true genius behind the lens and a true humble gent in front of it!
A passion for angling and catching the impossible are quite possibly the best fishing series made. Well done to all involved and thank you so much for making them
Sublime. Was on my way to do one of my mundane daily chores, then came across this. Mesmorised with the interview, then my Mrs caught me, end of my childhood escapism . Seriously thought about getting rid of her, but I don't look as good as I once did, so on balance, had to wait till she had gone to bed, then replayed it again, with the volume turned down !.
unionjakjakson we men shouldn’t live this way do what makes you happy but what makes them happy all the time in sick of it it’s like our lives me nothing
What an inspiration to anyone. Thank you Hugh for sharing those moments with us in all your films. Its not very often you get a fishing program that captures your Heart but "A Passion For Angling" certainly did when I was a Boy and carries on till this day. Hope you get your 4jb Roach . Tight Lines.
Truly captivating, I could listen for hours. Such amazing stories especially the wildlife filming. LEGEND is banded around far too often, but Hugh Miles certainly deserves to be called this.🤩
What a fantastic insight into Hughs filming career, totally amazing, and of course the legend Martin Bowler he’s just got it ...and he draws you right in to a story with every word spoken ...thank you 👏👏
What a wonderful video. Passion for Angling and Catching the impossible are classics which I watch continually throughout the year. Thank you Martin, Hugh and Drennan, you did good with this
What a brilliant interview video. Martin Bowler .Hugh Miles. even the magnamanus John Wilson got a mention Absolutely brilliant, Highly recommended viewing,
@@davidhodgson3565 yes David, the magic of the Crabtree illustrations inspired me to explore the hidden world that he portrayed as a youngster. John Wilson not only brought that to life with his programmes but his infectious enthusiasm which was evidenced by his wonderful laugh encouraged generations of Anglers to that magic.
lovely interview of Hugh by Martin. Will try to find some of his non-angling work to binge on as have loved watching Passion for Angling and Catching the Impossible.
Thank you for this brilliant interview. As a kid watching Passion for angling it made me realise there’s so much more to fishing than just catching fish.. Thank you
Thank you. The positive impact Hugh's films have had for Angling and conservation in the UK can't be over emphersised. Superb interview Martin and a great film all round.
When I find the time away from filming at theme parks I am going to film some fish, Hugh and his films inspired me to ever want to pick up a video camera some 30 years ago. An absolute legend as is Mr Yates, Mr James and Mr Bowler, may the wind always be at your backs and the sun on your faces. Am always available for a Gudgeon match and have actually landed two beautiful commons from Redmire Pool myself. None of it would happened without this man...thank you for making and posting this video. Quality.
i’m 50 and i can’t think of 1 person of my early vintage that has and was not moulded be the BBC wildlife series with DA and everyone else and being so much the richer for it 😁👍,for me though A Passion For Angling and Go Fishing were by far the best/most watched nature programs of my youth, with Hugh’s 😳 underwater filming + the characters 😂 IE chris/John/Bob/Martin etc etc, happy days !,i wish we still had programs of that nature now!,but just to be able to relive them is a good compensator 🙂👍,Congratulations Hugh on an outstanding wildlife 🎥 career🙂. PS my life is totally run/defined by music 😁 and jennie’s music is perfection and i’m sure she would have done CTI in a second for free, quite aptly though i suppose it’s another beautiful part of the whole story🙂.
Thank you sir Hugh for the two greatest angling series ever made! Still own a passion on VHS just can't get rid of it! Perhaps I should stop being a tight git and buy the DVD
I've seen all the films multiple times! I was 15 when I saw Passion for Angling and so deeply captivated me! Nice to learn a bit more about the genius behind those ground breaking fishing series! Thank you :)
Hello! I am from Chile and I would like to say that your documentary about the puma Penny shook me too much. I felt very nostalgic, it conveys many emotions. I'd love to know what happened to Penny.
does anyone know where I can watch all the original episodes or even buy them on dvd? searched everywhere, they used to be on TH-cam but I cannot find them.
Oh God! How wonderful. Passion for Angling changed all our lives for the better.

What u guy. Never new anything else about him apart from the fishing programme.
£240k of he’s own money back in the late 80s. I bet it was a massively stressful time thinking they’d lost that negative! 😅
Fantastic
