I'm not Maori or NZer but i think the Maori people should use their Haka the way they see fit. Anything else would be perceived as a marketing gimmik by NZRU.
TJ is a fluent Maori language speaker He has the mana and language to say whatever the hell he wants. What he said was very diplomatic and not even political. It's the dumb dumb bill that won't get past the first reading that is causing all the friction.
What is it with the government being in everyones business Just build some fucking roads and leave us alone, politicians need to be reminded of the french revolution again or something
While i respect your opinion on "no politics in sport", i personally disagree. I think its important to remember that rugby has an incredible power to harness peoples hearts, and has been used for great political change in the past. As a South African I know this well, and I'm very proud of its impact on our country, and grateful to the All Blacks, and the citizens of New Zealand, that protested at our rugby games during apartheid. I understand that you didn't sign up to watch a political statement, but that's what makes it a powerful political statement. in a world of twitter and facebook, where every opinion is drowned out by every other opinion... you have to take a stand sometimes. Personally i think he did it in a way that respected the game, and didn't try to distract from the sport, (for example, he could've protested at half time by refusing to leave the field, which i think we both agree is overkill)
@@CJ_McK there needs to be a place where people get away from politics, otherwise we gona see other more rediculess protests for stupid things in the future. Whiles i do agree what TJ did was respectful.
Politics should stay out of sport full-stop. In SA - after apartheid things would have normalized as it should have - except the Govt instilled Quota's. Luckily for us the rugby bosses chose on merit and we are where we are today. In other sport types - because of political interference and quotas - like soccer and cricket - we now are bottom of the log. As in business, quotas or BBEEE as they prefer to name it - our economy and infrastructure have been falling faster than a canon ball would. Politics ruin everything. Same as WR - Imperialistic control. - not that I am against TJ standing up to that imperialist govt - unfortunately in sport in can spiral out of control.
I am not Maori and clearly you are not and this not woke but they are worried about their future of the Maori children, and your opinion stinks just leave it to Kiwis to sort out. @rahowherox1177 no the only reason you'd see it as 'too much money' is because there's unnecessary financial caps that need addressing and reevaluating. The sport needs money to grow, the Premiership is squandering because clubs and owners aren't allowed to spend money that'd aid in that.
Everyone in nz is totally over this. The bill proposes to see where and when the treaty should be applied so as not to burden decision makers with not knowing where and when it is applied. It aims to set into legislation where and when it must be applied. Do you apply the treaty when you are building a highway? who knows? consult maori? why? Its becoming so cumbersome and costly, but not for maori, just the tax payer. It is completely logical. TJ and the hikoi crowd dont even know that. Its on the govt website, they should go have a read. TJ is just an activist. Shame on him. Why doesnt he go and sell more powerade to kids because the most obese vulnerable people that look up to Tj for guidance really need to be sold powerade.
How much money has the tax payer wasted on this ridiculous bill that won't get past the first reading? Big waste of time and money aimed at building support for ACT. But really just a dog whistle to racist old white folk. Sad.
